Assuming Seattle doesn't choke tonight, Seattle would need to lose I believe. But if Houston wins and Seattle wins, Houston would be I'm 1st because of the tie breaker over Texas?

No we just have to win 1 of the next 2 and we are in no matter what happens in Seattle.

At this point, we want the division.

    Go Seattle.

Arizona is going to breeze into the playoffs and we are going to take advantage of that starting with JV tomorrow. I can't see how we don't sweep this team now.

One more Seattle win in the next 2 days and we have the bye.

    This is really unbelievable.

What a crazy finish to the season this is. I think it’s pretty safe to say that the expanded playoffs are a major improvement.

If only the NBA would take notice. At least make technical fouls an automatic point so we don’t have to waste time on a tech free throw! Do something to reduce the dead time, NBA!

    What a game tonight!

No, the Astros are in the playoffs with one more win no matter what. 2 wins and 2 Rangers losses (including a probable loss tonight) and the Astros win the AL West.

The bad thing is that we gonna get their best shot tomorrow.

The good news is, even if we lose tomorrow they will clinch and undoubtedly drink until 4 in the morning, celebrate and play a split squad lineup on Sunday Should be easy like playing the royals!

Best news would be if we win tomorrow, Seattle wins again, but the reds lose. Then, diamondbacks clinch and shut it down, we are guaranteed the playoffs and a win wins us the division.

    That’s the ideal scenario tomorrow.

I think I wouldn’t pitch JV tomorrow and try to steal a win with France if he’s back. Or Bielak or something like that. That way- if you steal the win you throw Javier Sunday and if you win you get the division. If you lose you have JV and Framber lined up for the WC series with Minnesota.

I bet we go with JV, but I don’t think that’s how I’d do it now that we have 2 chances to win 1 game.

Houston gets to the playoffs automatically with a win tomorrow even if Seattle wins. Reason being- if on Sunday Houston loses and Seattle wins then it's a 3 way tie at the top (Seattle wins division due to matchups and Houston gets in with Texas out)

Win tomorrow and the Stros are in. If they win tomorrow and Seattle also wins tomorrow, that sets up a weird final day, assuming Toronto wins one or more of their final two. On the final day, Stros would win the division if they win. Stros also win the division on the final day if they lose and have 72 losses and Dallas beats Seattle, because the Rangers would also have 72 losses with the Stros owning the tiebreaker. If the Stros lose the final day + Seattle beating Dallas (completing the sweep), then it'd be Seattle winning the division, the Stros the 3rd playoff team, and Dallas being out.

So it's all about winning tomorrow to lock in the playoffs and then we can see where the chips lay tomorrow night.

So over the past four games they've beaten Castillo + Miller + Gallen.
