He's actually just crazy at this point. He must realise that pulling this weak **** year after year to force trades is completely tanking his value.
Tom Herman and Daryl Morey. Two/too smart dudes that did some things here that both overplayed their hands.
Former NBA small forward Matt Barnes thinks that James Harden might talk himself out of the NBA. (via SHOWTIME Basketball): “I think James has to be careful because with all due respect, the NBA doesn’t need him no more. And I’m all for player empowerment, but he forced his way out of Houston, forced his way out of Brooklyn, now he’s trying to force his way out of Philly. He’s got so much talent and a lot of game left, could talk himself out of the league with his talent, which is crazy to think.” Source: Paul Terrazzano Jr. @ TalkBasket
I know people have tried to justify Harden passing the ball and then just standing there after (heck, even D'Antoni justified it, which I think was a clever way of making it noncontroversial)... but I think it is the most selfish play in all of the NBA. People look at assists and think high assist = unselfish, but Harden is a very selfish player and person.
