If Mariners take 3 of 4, Houston doesn't need to sweep Arizona. They just need to take 2 of 3. That's why the Astros have a significant edge. Houston basically just needs to lose the same number of games as Seattle to make the playoffs at this point, and Seattle has one more game to play then the Astros, so they have one more chance to add a loss. If the Astros just win the series with Arizona, they're probably in. But they haven't done much winning lately, so I'm assuming nothing. They need to take care of business versus the DBacks.
