Well it comes down to this. FU Seattle for taking out Chaz with that bs. I actually wouldn’t mind some hbp by the stros if they’re in the same game flow. They’ve taken way too many

I dunno. That lineup looks terrible to me. Hope we win.

Now I really don’t understand using singleton last night in that situation. I was certain it must’ve been Brantley’s shoulder bothering him.

Hey maybe Maldonado can do that magic trick like last time Framber pitched and cost us 4 runs in the first inning and the realistic chance at ever winning the game?

    Wasn't that fun, kids?

I just don't understand how Dusty lucked into Maldonado staying healthy all year. Jesus.

If McCullers was pitching I can see a deliberate drilling. Rather Valdez pitch well and not hit someone and get toss. Throw Montero out there and let him plunk Arod and get thrown out.

Someone needs to get drilled though. 99 MPH to the kidney can't go unanswered.

Catchers don't get 710 PAs. I used 465 PAs which is what Sean Murphy got and that would put Diaz at 5.7 fWAR in which Murphy got 5 fWAR. It isn't my math's fault that Diaz has been by far the best catcher in baseball on a per PA basis by fWAR (with the possible exception of Garver depending on min PAs set). My math looks very similar to the math you used except it appears you used Diaz's defensive value at catcher, DH, and 1B to approximate his defensive value at C. I used Diaz's actual stats as a catcher to remove DH penalty from offensive stats as well as measuring the actual defensive value at catcher. It is odd how you don't like the math when it gives an answer you don't like.

I probably should use regression to get Diaz's offensive stats down because he's simply been amazing as a catcher, but you didn't either. I'd assume that would probably knock Diaz back to being just adding 3.5 or so fWAR. With Chas and Meyers losing time to Julks, and Dusty not playing platoons well, it still easily gets into the 5 fWAR range.

Personally, Dusty choose to play Maldy over Diaz so I don't think he should get the benefit of the doubt of regression. It would take some serious of regression to get down to the 2 wins that you suggested.

I'm hoping he has a bounce back game along with framber.

The "bright side" is there's chance Dusty would have benched Chas anyway.
Dusty would knowingly play Maldy injured just to spite Diaz, Brown, and the fans.

Dusty probably has an under-the-table handshake & toothpick-flip with Scott Servais / Topa / Munoz with regard to Chas & Yainer getting targeted.
Damn I really wish they could investigate this and find some evidence...

Regardless, hoping every pitcher who comes in relief goes straight to SEA batters heart/head... (THERES A WAY TO DO THIS WITH STRATEGY YOU DUMBFCUK NITWIT MANAGER)

But knowing him, he'll have the RP who can throw solid / shutdown innings drill SEA....
