If all we get is an innings eater that is pitiful

@Nook - Is it a given that Maldy retires? I recall you saying last year that he was contemplating retirement. I have a feeling Framber may want him back, but it is up to Maldonado himself. Just curious.

The score should be 4-2 or 4-3 Astros right now.

Not sure why you are in such a hurry to get rid of him because whomever replaces him won’t be as good.

Also - until recently, Bregman has been one of the best players after a slow start… 840 OPS in June… 830 OPS in July and a 960 OPS in August.

He isn't the same anymore - he once had much better numbers both as a fielder and a hitter, he is no longer feared, he is a below average hitter now.

fine with all of that except Abreu. He sucks. He looks like a fool up there way too much. He doesn’t get on base, he doesnt hit for power anymore. His defense is below average, his OPS wont hit .700. I dont care about his counting totals on RBI’s when he hits every single day behind altuve, bregs, yordan, tucker. He should have well over 100 rbi’s. We have a 36 year old 1st baseman who cant hit .240 or even hit 20 home runs in 150ish starts. Nothing he has done lately makes up for his terrible performance for 70-80% of the season. I know he make a lot and financially its not likely but **** it, he’s a total bust. .

Bregman is a guy that thrives in a hyper competitive environment. For some reason he hasn’t gotten that. Dusty’s laid back attitude is not what this team needed this season. It was hard to know that at the beginning of the season but was fairly clear a few months in.

Our best players have struggled to show up when we needed them most. Thats not in their DNA.

That is what you are likely getting added to the rotation.

They already have a payroll before arbitration of 200 million next year and have to replace 3 relievers on a team with a shaky pen.

The one big free agent the Astros have interest in is Josh Hader.

He’s not the same, but he’s not below average. An .800 OPS is 20% better than league average.

Abreu is not even serviceable....his batting average keeps falling, he will catch Moldy( just kidding). There have been 6 men on base during his last 3 AB. I know what his career has been but this year he has been poor, very poor.

Just not meant to be for these guys I guess. Too bad. They really should have been better this season.
