So there’s this thing going around that men think about the Roman Empire a lot. I was talking to some rando bro a few weeks and it came up…and I do think about it. I’m reading a book about it now. Then it starts popping up everywhere. Zeitgeist? Group think? Preordained Roman dominaton?
Roman Empire? Never. English Empire? Everyday. Spanish Empire? All my homies hate the Spanish Empire. Remember the Maine! Down with Spain!
I think about the Mongol empire. All the damn time. Genghis and his sons and grandsons bedded ALL the fine ladies, and their ancestors live amongst us……looking all fine and ****.
The only time I ever think about the Roman Empire is when I'm thinking about how it declined, and possible parallels for today. So, recently, about every 4 years (at least) I think about the Roman Empire.
Can you guys be quiet? You're interfering with my fantasy of being one of the lead characters on HBO's Rome.
Every series including The Roman Empire on HH slaps hard. One of my go-tos when I’m doing mindless work.
On a related note watched this awhile ago about the relationship / lack of between the Roman Empire and the Han Chinese Empire.
