Overall, McClellan was doing good things. There was no need to bring in some unknown guy like Grant.

I'll be happy if they can get 30 or more wins but I won't be looking back on the season as anything worth remembering.

So you just have to be one of the most successful franchise in NBA history with coaching and FO stability.....

Maybe a rookie HC and rookie GM aren't the folks to tank and look competent? I just think folks had wildly high expectations.

He was brought in to be a players' coach for Harden.... He wasn't the right coach to rebuild..... unless you pick tanking over development/culture.....

Silas and KPJ put us in a great position for the lottery balls. I think that was the point....Aside from the Spurs, who has tanked in the modern era while developing players and implementing culture?

Aside from the Spurs..... who else tanked in this modern era while creating culture and developing players?

Frankly, there was no irrevocable damage done to the Rockets franchise by our blatenly tanking.

Putting us exactly where we wanted to be for a tanking team..... in a position to have the best odds at #1 pick for three consecutive seasons?

The post Harden priorities should have been:

    A) Stockpiling young talent looking for a star

    B) Building a culture of accountability and teamwork...

for talent - we took what the draft afforded us...

and the culture part - non existent...

what a waste of a few years...

and we're left to count on Ime (and his questionable character...) to right the ship?

    what a sh*t show...

It really was a waste of a perfectly good tank. I feel like most of us fans would have done a better job. At least we would have had a great deal of value aligned towards what you tanked for…. That being Jalen Green, Sengun, Jabari, etc. Instead we had this bizarre culture of treating them as if they were a dime a dozen, and the players we got for free (ones who also were violent monsters) were more important.

Everything you could have possibly done wrong you pretty much did. At least someone stepped in and didn’t allow Stone to do the worst thing possible this summer and signed Harden to the max.

    1. FVV/Amen
    2. JG
    3. DB/Tari
    4. Jabari
    5. Alperen

    Ime Udoka
    Brooklyn Picks

Not very many of you would have a better situation for the Rockets going forward. That's a fact. :)

What heavy investment are you talking about? We gave him the goofiest looking contract

After the tank was completed we drafted a point guard, signed a point guard, and immediately told him he ready for a bench role cause it’s winning time

It is the title for the article. You might have to ask the writer.

Curious to know if @Clutch has had any feedback on this from journalists or Rocket employees?

LOL "waste of a perfectly good tank" when we were exactly in the position we wanted for high draft picks?

Oh wait, you want to go from a rookie HC and rookie GM on a Harden led team and immediately go to blatantly tanking in a 2 1/2 season window..... but do so with class, grace, and culture?

Folks are just upset because they had these unreasonably high expectations for how this hard tank was going to go under a short time frame. KPJ getting "preferential treatment" is just an overstatement as you outlined.

I don't see Stone being the long term GM, but some of these comments and expectations are just far out there.

Thank you for the great article.

My question is - Who is responsible for the Rocket's great success in the draft? I don't know how the front office is structured, so could any GM have accomplished what Stone has in this area with the infrastructure and staff the Rockets have in place around him? If it's the people around Stone that are making him look good here, are they people that Daryl Morey hired?
