Astros Suffer Most Embarrassing Loss of 2023 No adversity has been too much for them to overcome. Well, unless you'd count a home game against the 102 loss Kansas City Royals and Jordan Lyles as adversity. That combo may simply be too much to overcome. Jordan Lyles took the mound for the Royals last night. No qualified starter in the MLB had a worse ERA than Lyles' 6.43. After the Astros decided to finally "activate playoff mode," the hapless Royals were ripe for the picking. The Astros loss locked up a losing record at Minute Maid Park for the first time since 2014. One year after winning the World Series on this field, they can't manage to beat the two worst teams in the MLB on it. https://climbingtalshill.com/posts/astros-suffer-most-embarrassing-loss-of-2023-01hb3ep3k854
So Much For The Activated Playoff Mode, Astros Drop Another To The Royals September has not been kind to the Astros. Below are some quick points about how rough it has been recently. 8-12 record with a +12 run differential 2-6 against the Royals and A’s 4-10 at Minute Maid Park Guaranteed first losing record at Minute Maid Park since 2014 https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/official-royals-astros.320962/page-61
There's plenty of crap in Houston's toilet to choose from. Astros specifically here is a case of self sabotage directly coming from management. Injuries and poor play are one thing, but playing inferior players *by choice* takes it to Pete Rose levels.
This Astros team isn't worth getting worked up about. As a rule if you care more about how the team is doing than anyone in the organization cares about how the team is doing, you're wrong.
***sees it’s an 8:40 start*** They’ve slept thru September. I’ll get a good nights rest and wish them well. Not worth losing a good nights sleep.
No way I can watch this team with the Texans on. Which is absolutely sad to say. Its really hard watching this team's version of its 2020 self. Its much more painful watching what I consider the best team in the AL playing like chumps than the football team which you know is terrible. The Astros are bored. They also remind me so much of the GSW Warriors who would get bored in the regular season and have trouble turning it on sometimes. This team doesn't have a manager that has held them accountable for lollygagging through the regular season and this is the result you get. Guess what, we are having issues turning it on. You play poorly, you still get to keep your job.
With Jon Singleton as your pinch hitter. I could see him on a 102 loss team. Are the Astros that bad? Seems like it.
