No way I’m giving up 2 first for Duncan Robinson and you’re stuck with him for 3 years. We only have to eat KPJ’s contract for one year, in a year where we have an extremely full roster.
Yeah I am missing something on why that is a good trade in any way. That pick could easily be top 10. Trade that during the draft with a player and you should end up with someone way better than Robinson going into next season with the opportunity to take a real step forward after a season where you had some initial success.
If we’re trading kpj for robinson then we need to be getting a pick to take on the extra 2 years of his contract. I would probably do kpj for duncan and a first, though I wouldn’t be thrilled. Straight up not a chance in hell, and adding picks is just idiotic
Makes a better conversation than hammering down the 2nd chance requests.... Technically they would tell you to not include Kev Porter junior, other than that, we are down to talk. Those 2nd rounder incentives, you could get them anywhere now, it is like a 24 hour Mini Mart out there.
Probably no one, but we have no reason to add picks to get rid of him. We will end up just cutting him unless some other team wants to use his contract in a trade and is willing to give us a second or something for the contract’s use.
Huh? If miami could get out of 3 years of dead money for 1 year of dead money, they would do it in a heartbeat. It doesn’t matter what name is attached to the contract, I wouldn’t trade you for duncan robinson either if the contracts are what they currently are
Robinson is not dead money, not as dead as KPJ. Robinson's contract is bad. But he is a playable player, and he can be traded or there's a chance he can play up to his contract. (He's a career 40% 3pt shooter, 62% career TS%, with a down year last season.) KPJ is not just dead in a metaphorical sense. It is really dead. You can't do anything about it other than pay. You can't ignore the names. You have to look at the player. A truly dead contract is someone who is unplayable and untradeable. KPJ is not just a contract. He is a hot potato nobody wants to keep on the roster.
None of this really matters, i would not consider trading kpj for robinson straight up, would you?? That would be completely insane. Adding TWO extra years of robinson? Good god, no thanks. If they added a 1st i would bite the bullet, but something like robinson and a bunch of 2nds for kpj would be a hell no. The names do not matter, you can just cut the guy. Who cares if the name is porter or jones or anyone else
