His last homer July 5th and it was his 10th. I would say this team is choking hard right now. They look like a bunch of old players compared to other teams.
I was fine with that at first because he was getting on base and had cut down on the whiffs. But now, he hasn't gotten on base much (outside the key double on Wednesday afternoon).
The disengagements rule doesn't help, either. But it seems like most (if not all) of our pitchers are slow as molasses to the plate.
Has played for 8 different teams. Leads the league in L's, ERs, HRs, and surprisingly, CGs. His 6.43 ERA this season will only be the *3rd* worst of his career. The incredible Jordan Lyles
Teams that get complacent, assuming they can coast through the season and just turn it back on when it matters, often realize their lethargic bullshit is hard to turn off.
maybe if this was the 2017-2022 astros. this is the 2023 astros. they can't even score when the bases are loaded with 0 outs.
2023 astros flyout, flyout, flyout groundout, groundout, groundout strikeout, strikeout, strikeout but they need to flip the switch to playoffs mode tho
