I'd switch it up a little. Alvarez, Diaz, and Abreu all have 5 HRs the past 15 games, and the highest SLG. Put them behind the guys with decent OBP. Altuve Bregman Alvarez Diaz Tucker Abreu
The Astros are the league's superpower that everyone else hates led by a geriatric moron running everything into the ground.....never let anyone tell you that the Astros aren't "America's Team"
it's a lot of it though. Even if we look past how awful Dusty is at setting a lineup or making baseball decisions, he's also allowed the team to get complacent...something admitted by Yordan just yesterday. Basically everything you need a manager to do, Dusty is a complete failure at. If the team had a guy who would play the best players and put the team in the best position to win while not allowing them to get complacent, this team even with the injuries would have already locked up the division. With Dusty, there's a good chance this team doesn't even make the playoffs at all unless they really can just "flip the switch" whenever they feel like finally playing baseball well.
There's still time to right the ship. We've gone on a **** run and now it's time to kick some ass. A win today with a rangers loss and we are back in first.
After winning a WS and having most of the players back, it is not unexpected that hopes would be high for a repeat, BUT, not only are the "stars" underperforming (especially Pena and Abreu), but the management of the team (Dusty) has been questionable. The pitching is not close to last year's standard and the catching controversy is a distraction. Lineups have been head scratchers, the bullpen has been unreliable, and focus comes and goes. They may be sitting home during the playoffs. And if so, it is on them. We didn't play. And I do think we are more excited about the playoffs than they are.
We both know he had Dusty forced on him by the league as the harshest punishment for the Astros getting caught doing the same thing everyone else was doing. If he allows Dusty to come back next season, I'll blame him.
