Give away 5 first rounders? I'm not sure how you came up with that number unless you're doing some major double counting with the Covington trade.

They put the development of KPJ over everything else which is to put it kindly, puzzling.

Jabari's, Sengun's, and even Jalen's growth were stunted by a KPJ heliocentric offense. They didn't do that to develop the top pics, they didn't do it to tank, they did it because they believed in KPJ as a superstar - which was just as bizarre then as it is now. Stone went all in on KPJ, and showed everyone he doesn't know a lick about playing winning GM on a table full of sharks.

You're not familiar with how tanking works in 2023

The same as it worked in 1983?

Tanking worked much better in 1983.

    Hyperbole never helps your argument.

Lol…. And they did all that to just put KPJ on the bench as soon as we wanted to compete…. Whoops.

None of what you are saying adds up when you look at the result. I won’t argue that the FO didn’t prop up KPJ but come on….the revisionist history is just telling.

I understand your point. But was moving him to the bench a Stone decision? Or Udoka?

If they hadn't fired Silas or hired a weak HC, KPJ may have still been the starter. Udoka took their plans in a different direction.

Clearly the FO who hired Ime and allowed him to do things as he saw fit. They ultimately let Ime decide on Harden and subsequent roster moves.

Silas was hired to be a players’ coach with Harden.

Hiring Udoka was some combination of switching to competing and implementing a professional culture. I personally think the Rockets viewed tanking as more important than player development during these years in which we kept our pick.

Well run organizations don't need to switch to a professional culture, that should be the standard at all times. Further evidence Stone needs to be fired.

Yawn….. In the real world, we blatantly tanked to get as many high picks as possible.

And of course we aren’t well run… But that was happening before Stone and that was Tilman.

Yes the Rockets could have KPJ on the roster, Udoka on the sidelines, (recently fired for inappropriate relationships in the front office) and Rosas (recently fired for inappropriate relationships in the front office) calling the shots upstairs - it would be a proud day for us Rocket fans.

This I was not aware of.

But he's still rising to the top in other franchises, so they must have a call-girl rolodex for him when they hire him on or promote him.

He's rising to the top of the NY Knicks - where the response to Isiah Thomas sexual harrassment scandal was to...extend his contract.
