This team feels like it's playing with house money. We won last year We ALWAYS pick it up in the playoffs when we need to We ALWAYS win this punk division of nobodies. I'm just playing it out too. Hope but no expectation. Come on 2024.
Dana Brown putting on his best "we are winning the division" face just now on 790. Does he actually believe it? I'm not sure.
But I heard from the Maldy defenders that is only possible because Yainer stays fresh and we should thank Dusty for that. I am being completely serious...
Ahh yes, the genius strategist dusty baker. Let's make sure our best and most feared hitter gets two days of rest in a row for checks notes... The off season.
There are 10 games left and 2 rest days built in. If you have to rest Alvarez do it on Friday against kc
As much as Dusty has screwed over Chas in his time here, I think Dusty has screwed over Meyers more substantially this season. Best OF alignment, imo, is Chas/Meyers/Tucker and how many games has that been deployed this season? Less than 10? Dusty has relegated Meyers to a 4th OF role when he should be a pretty good glove first starting CF (e.g., in the 2.5-4 WAR range depending on how he hits).
Dusty Baker can **** right off. In my opinion today is the biggest regular season game in the past 6 years and dusty rests Yordan with an off day tomorrow. Lose today and we are literally on the outside looking in. I'm sure bochy is resting seager and servais is resting jrod as well lol
I think he has a lot of resposnibilities with the minors as well. As far as the MLB team goes, it looks like Dusty reports to Crane. Demoting Julks may be the only thing Brown has won over Dusty regarding the MLB team. I was worried about that causing Dubon to be back to playing CF a lot as soon as Julks was sent down. I can't imagine Brown has much control over the team as the Dubon in CF experiment would likely have been shut down right after it was restarted if he did. Luckily, Dubon is having the best streak at the plate of his career (i.e., much better than the hit streak at the begining of the year). I fear this will cement his role as the primary CF, and he will regress to his normal self. Unlike Meyers, it is going to take a much longer slump to lose his role as primary CF.
Dusty has very robust "priors." I'm sure Dubon's hot streak completely validates the decision in his mind.
Glad we could play Yainer at DH (where he’s not been all that good) at the expense of Yordan and Brantley and not Maldy. Makes sense.
