wow this song predicted the future!

Now in the street there is violence
And, and a lots of work to be done
No place to hang out our washing
And, and I can't blame all on the sun
Oh no we gonna rock down to electric avenue
And then we'll take it higher
Oh we gonna rock down to electric avenue
And then we'll take it higher
Workin' so hard like a soldier
Can't afford a thing on TV
Deep in my heart I am warrior
Can't get food for them kid
Good God we gonna rock down to electric avenue
And then we'll take it higher
Oh we gonna rock down to electric avenue
And then we'll take it higher

Who is to blame in one country

Never can get to the one
    Dealin' in multiplication
And they still can't feed everyone
Oh no, we gonna rock down to electric avenue
And then we'll take it higher
Oh no, we gonna rock down to electric avenue
And then we'll take it higher
    Out in the street
    Out in the street
    Out in the playground
In the dark side of town
Oh, we gonna rock down to electric avenue
And then we'll take it higher
We gonna rock down to electric avenue
And then we'll take it higher
Oh we gonna rock down to electric avenue
(Rock it in the night) And then we'll take it higher (electric avenue)
(Rock it, Miami mama, meh) We gonna rock down to electric avenue
(Whoa, in a Brixton) And then we'll take it higher (electric avenue)

$6.29 at the Shell station in Sacto on Sunday. Unsustainable. Clearly intentional to drive people to EVs.

How naive does a adult have to be to believe that politicians who make it at the presidential level are so principled in their desire to save the planet for the fire of our children that they are willing to risk their reelection bid to save the planet in the long term?

    Like who is THAT naive?

It isn't Washington, it is Sacramento. California has higher taxes on gasoline than any other state. California is also trying to legally mandate a switch to electric vehicles. I am not talking about Biden, I am talking about politics in California where taxing people into falling in line with progressive policies is beneficial to reelection.

California is full of people who live lives and have to budget things like the rest of human civilization. Absurd gas prices effect their lives and will impact their voting.

How privileged of a life do you have to live to think otherwise?

You clearly don't understand California politics. This is a state where we spend $80,000 per year per person on homelessness without providing a place to live. There is no policy that costs too much or does too little to get votes, so long as it takes money from people and virtue signals to the progressives. The Democrats know they have a supermajority in the Senate (32 to 8) and the Assembly (62 to 18) and hold every statewide office. They are not at all worried about reelection. I guarantee you that doesn't change with these gas prices.

The gas tax goes to roads and public transportation. Why does California need so much I have no idea it gets the second most in federal money behind Texas but the gas tax does get used for its intended purpose

They are also mandating that all gas powered lawn equipment gets phased out... all these companies that do lawn care they'll have to buy the Toro revolution stand on mower (which is needed for the hills) that cost $30,000 to be efficient...say hello to $200 quotes to cut average size yards @tinman - but I suppose this will help the GDP when everyone is being taxed to death beyond recognition or recovery :rolleyes:o_O

LA has terrible air quality. California has much more incentive to curb emissions

I can understand that I just feel like they should've mandated hybrids, and not going all the way with EV use mandate abruptly ... in my business I actually use a commercial battery mower called the Milwaukee, M 18- it's made for pros -but there's no way I can afford to go completely battery mode - it would just raise prices and that's what's going to happen
