Regardless if he was tipping and if the batters could pick up on it, when you throw your fastball only six times out of 30 pitches it’s pretty easy to spit on it. Him and Maldy have none an awful job mixing in his fastball more often IMO.

He’s averaged about 35% since coming here between 2019-2022.
The Megadeth lineup will be a symphony of destruction that will leave the other team sweating bullets
If Diaz isn’t catching tonight then WTF. If our dumbass manager would play the best players maybe we wouldn’t lose so many games. Altuve, Bregman, Alvarez, Abreu, Tucker, Chaz, Diaz, Brantley, Pena. That HAS to be the lineup tonight. By the way, Maldy plays because he’s supposedly a great defensive catcher. That might’ve been true last season, but he is a shell of himself defensively. He can’t throw anyone out, he I believe leads the league in passed balls, and the pitchers seem to perform no better with him behind the plate. So remind me again why he plays so much?
God forbid he used it every night. You'd think you'd want to win more often than lose lol. Senile old man
It’s beyond absurd at this point. We’ve b****ed about it all season. He seems like the petty type who would rather sacrifice winning just to spite the fans and probably even people in the front office who face palm every time they see his ridiculous lineup cards. Like tonight, he will probably run Meyers or Singleton out there.
My "guess" is Dusty has alienated certain team members and there is discord in the clubhouse. The team seems off. They have bursts of focus, but in general seem dispirited. Did you notice the underwhelming response that Maldonado got after his HR? I have serious doubts that the Astros are going far in the playoffs if they get in at all, and that is a crying shame.
Will have to take solace in that please God Dusty will be gone next year along with Maldanado. We still have some incredible pieces here (Tucker, Diaz, Alutve, Yordan, Framber , etc.) and a good blend of young and old. Crane will have to set up to reinforce the pitching and that will cost him.
Winning cures a lot of ills. I'm incredibly frustrated by Dusty, but even with Dusty holding the Astros back, they still have one of the most competitive teams in the AL. Things change quickly in baseball regarding momentum, who's hot, who's dispirited. The Astros could be rolling in 2 weeks just as easily as they could be strugging.
Team is in first place and the 2nd seed. The two other teams in the division are playing worse than the Astros. The Astros aren't giving us those warm and fuzzy feelings, but they definitely are not "pretty much done." This season has a lot of 1995 Rockets vibes. Defending champs, struggling through the season, injuries and underperformance, Rockets trade for a hometown favorite in Drexler (Astros trade for JV) but the Rockets still only played .500 with Drexler to close out the 95 season and so might the Astros. Rockets got hot when it mattered in the postseason and maybe the Astros will to. But yeah, Baker is no Rudy T...
