how this thread keeps going is just quite sad. It's established that The NBA is a North American basketball league that contains some international players. The team that wins the nba championship doesn't represent the world, they represent/won it for the US/canada city that signed them to a contract essentially mercenaries You need to win an international competition to proclaim yourself the world champ, which Germany just did Best league does not equate to an automatic crowning of the title World champ Like u can call NBA champions, the world champs if you want, but as long as you know that you are incorrect/inaccurate about it. Some folks like to believe that the NBA/USA is the center of the world, can't change those folks mindset.
Basically it is about them having the bragging rights because they think they are on the higher level. (that is not the important part even) Basically we are here correcting them about the inaccuracy of a regional league/tournament format. The NBA can call itself whatever title but it is the National Basketball Association for a reason.
