Abreu needs to be converted to closer, or at the very least Neris, who has done it before. I've been a proponent of Pressly all year long, it's time he got demoted. Montero needs to be DFA'd. Seriously.

Verlander deserved to win. If any reliever deserved a win it was Neris for hunkering down. Pressly absolutely deserved the loss. Abreu should be the closer going forward.
So glad we treated the regular season like Spring Training all year. Now these types of games are killers.

Get used to it. The effort was there tonight but…. Pressly and Javier pitched in WS and WBC and are exhausted and not effective. Montero and Maton have under achieved. Verlander came off an injury and isn’t sharp. McCullers is out the year. The pitching was good the first few months but isn’t now. This team is likely losing the division to Seattle and even if they don’t - who gets tough outs?
