Stroud is going to be so much better than Watson. Rookie year First two games totals and averages. Watson 27/47 CMP/ATT 227 YDS 1TD/1INT 68.1 RTG SACKS 7 Stroud 58/91 CMP/ATT 626 YDS 2TD/0INT 90.9 RTG SACKS 11
When we look back in 5 years, Stroud will have been the better QB pick compared to Bryce and Richardson. Both other players will prove to be more injury prone, for different reasons. Richardson because his running style will get him in trouble, the way it did today (completely legal hit leading to a concussion). And Bryce is just going to get in trouble with his frame; unfortunately, there's just not much he can do about that. It's interesting that Stroud had by far the best ability in the single-most important trait you need to have as an NFL QB (passing accuracy), and still the scouting community let some strange confounding data points (too much talent around him in college; lack of successful OSU QB's before him) cloud their evaluation process when it came to picking Bryce above him. I'm not complaining. The results suck because somehow our training program is beating all our OL into a pulp, but you can't be disappointed with the rookie's performance these first two games, particularly with a non-existent line and running game as he's currently been given. Multiple seasons of this will turn him into David Carr, though, so hopefully we can get him protection before the shell shock sets in.
It’s crazy to me how much people over-thought the most accurate QB, who also happens to LOOK like a prototypical NFL QB.
Two average to solid games. That doesn’t make anyone look silly. What’s silly is you idiots lapping up his play. I’m not interested in Goff/Carr/Dak level of QB, sorry
At this point, it’s apparent you’re not interested in opening your eyes. You were wrong about Stroud. The more you double-down, the sadder you look.
Stroud did good today with the oline given to him. So not bad...he does hold a tad longer than I would like. Not sure he can take off when needed. AR is going to need to be careful if he doesn't want to keep getting concussed. He was also hurt in the first game. Young is going to need to run for his life and tiptoe a little higher.
Very serious. I get trying to be a realist, but your homerism is ridiculous talk. His play very much reminds of Matt Stafford on all those bad Lions teams.
No one is right or wrong after two games. Sorry, that’s not how it works. He has looked solid, he hasn’t looked like he’s a game changer at any point. AR looked far better
Come on man. You really aren't giving him near enough credit. If he is average then how is he setting rookie passing records with such a horrible offensive line for his first two games? He's running circles over what Watson did his first two games, and the sky is the limit if we can fix this horrible offensive line in the future. First two rookie games. Watson 27/47 CMP/ATT 227 YDS 1 TD/1INT Stroud 58/91 CMP/ATT 626 YDS 2TD
AR looked far better running so I’ll give you that… but being a qb it’s not even close. People called Nico a bust the last 3 years... he is on pace for a career season.. Robert Woods was considered a horrible singing… and he is also on pace to rejuvenate his career with a great season. The common denominator is the guy that you say is shown no sign of being a game changer.. with a trash offensive line at that.
So you're saying that we have a QB that makes people around him better?? Something people on this board said a QB had to have to be considered a Top QB but they still won't call him a Top QB? Seems like a good QB to me
