There's just no reason to trust this team at all, I made my peace with the fact that this season almost certainly isn't going to be a winner, but that doesn't make watching it any easier. Especially when that means having to watch Maldonado in the lineup nearly every game.
We haven't bought a single ticket this year because I ain't paying that kind of money to watch Dubon and Moldy flop like a fish while better players ride the pine.
I think players and managers should have to get physically punished everytime they lose to a 100 loss team.
Sure starting to look like Dusty is pulling a “**** around and find out” on the season. Yea the “big boys” are **** right now but sitting a ROY candidate/winner that is far and away superior for a chunk of the season not a good idea either. Both can be true.
Maldonado is on pace to play 116 games -- that's almost 75% of the season, 3 out of every 4 games. His OPS+ is 63 and his defense might be even worse than his offense. The fatboy had another passed ball yesterday that led to an unearned run. He literlly might be the WORST player in baseball. His replacement's OPS+ is double (127) and his defense and pitcher ERA are both better. With regular play, he prob wins ROY and has one of the GREATEST seasons by a rookie. The stupid manager is literally helping keep the other teams in the division race and playoffs.
Against a lefty especially in a big yard I’d prefer Meyers over Dubon in CF but whatever. Brantley should sit against LHP. He needs to apH late and close against a RHP for Dubon imo, but whatever. this lineup is fine. It sucks that we can only potentially have a good lineup on Brown and France days but whatever.
@Nook I know I always ask but anything drift your way about the state of our Locker room? Seems lost to me
too many astros fan banking on the rangers vs mariners match-ups down the stretch to help us. usually those situations don't work out as well you hope. that's 7 guaranteed wins between your division rivals who are neck and neck with you.
No, nothing specific. I just get the sense the long season last year and short rest for some - coupled with injuries to Altuve and the pitching staff had taken its toll. Plus there have been playing time issues as well. I am sure there is some strain as well from the disagreements between Baker and the front office - but I don’t think the chemistry is completely destroyed.
Agreed, I figure we need to win 6 of the next 8 games before the Seattle series to put us in a decent position.
For some reason I thought they were playing in Houston. Must've been because the lineup decided go nap in yesterday's game.
