the team haven't had a double digits winning streak when they had one but sometime 2 times for the past 4-5 seasons. mariners just lost and i can't even get excited about it. just disappointed.
The Mariners and Rangers continue to do the Astros favors by losing. It’s now put up or shut up time. The time where the Astros can even get help is coming to an end since Seattle and Texas play each other 7 times. The Astros are going to have to take the division, there is no backing into it.
I don't think Mariners vs Rangers down the stretch will be as helpful as people think. One division rival is guaranteed a loss yes.. but the other is guaranteed a win. Astros have a gauntlet with the Orioles, Mariners, and D-Backs to close the season and all those have reason to play hard for better playoff positioning. This may get dire.
astros don't really have problems with teams that are good. Astros probably win against the mariners if Tucker was allowed to play too. im not worried about the astros coming to play against teams who have something to play for if im being honest.
I hear you but for me confidence is likely knocked when the batters know we are playing the weaker batting lineup on purpose and they don’t think there is enough in it in the catching. Doesn’t matter if they are right or wrong.
Astros WIN !!! Nevermind the passed balls, stolen bases against, and lack of offense from Maldy -- despite having an upgrade and benched-ROY candidate who's better at damn near everything. The MAIN thing is our pitchers are more *comfortable* with Martin -- despite the actual stats/results showing otherwise. Astros WIN !!! #maldy120
And sometimes we play like **** against good teams. This last month of inconsistency started when we got swept at home against Seattle. At the time we had a chance to put our foot on their neck but instead they dominated us and vaulted past both us and Texas into the division lead for most of the last 30 days. As a fan, much of the last month or so of the season has been difficult to watch. Whether its watching Bregman popping up or GIDP when we really need a big hit, or Altuve popping up a bunt when he should be mashing, or Maldy getting most of the playing time at catcher instead of Diaz, or Framer melting down when we need a dominate pitching performance, the list goes on. And on. And on. If we do manage to back into the playoffs we need to get our act together or we will not make it out of the first round.
Then, as the Reds drifted, then nose-dived late in the year, Baker insisted there was no need for urgency.
Agree. We need to keep the momentum going when we have guys in base, and knock them in. It's sad when Bregman's highest MLB stat is ranking 3rd in grounding the ball into double plays. Alvarez is our only consistent player getting on base, but then the inconsistency comes behind him when driving him in. He's hitting more home runs than anyone, but that won't bring many grand slams with the 3 guys in front of him.
It's been weeks since Pressly has had a save opportunity. Been blowing teams out or losing by 3+ runs in the later innings for weeks now. It's given the overworked high leverage guys their first break of the season.

Losing to a team that has lost 101 games this season, seriously. In the middle of an intense and close division race. They look ready for the offseason. If I am the owner, and I am not, I would find out what is going on and fix it, if even possible.
