Again...Amy shtface does not own every shade of light blue. Texans can use another shade of light blue, doesn't have to be "Columbia blue", and looks like they will use another shade. Amy can't do sht, btch as much as she wants.
I'm not sure how the sausage gets made but I'm willing to guess that the NFL as an org and the owners do have some say over branding changes across the league.
Colors, Logos, etc... become iconic by winning and Texans for them most part have sucked and so one likes our schemes. It's because we suck and we can't talk about winning that we talk about this ancillary b.s. They could wear trashbags for all I care, just focus on football and start a winning culture. The rest will take care of itself.
#1. H-town Blue will not be a part of the primary color scheme. The primary color scheme will not change. Why? Adams Strunk basically "owns" that color in the NFL. So, the NFL won't allow the Texans to use it. UH was allowed to do uniforms to wear, but they cannot sell the uniforms. No way she allows the Texans to change to that blue as a primary color without a big fight. One of the 4 uniforms the Texans create has "h-town" blue part of it in some way. #2. Texans are not changing from the bull as the Primary logo (from what I can tell).
They league still has to approve it. If it’s too close, they can certainly say nope and let Hannah, they already did once. But it does look like they were able to work something out.
I agree. It wouldn't be difficult to make it slightly different, and slightly lighter. This link shows their trademark colors, along with all the teams towards the bottom of the article. Carolina's is closest in color, with Detroit's a shade different. I don't think it wouldn't be difficult to do, without infringing on their trademark rights. It's just like all the different shades of red in the league. https://teamcolorcodes.com/tennessee-titans-color-codes/
It has already been said that the primary Texans' colors are not changing. They have an alternate uni that has H-Town Blue somewhere on it.
I like our colors and logo anyway, so I really am not a fan of changing them. I think they are great as they are, even if I was a huge Oilers fan back in the day.
Can you show where you are hearing all this? I have not seen it or read it anywhere and would like to. It seems like there definitely will be some h-town blue, and they're playing up that angle quite a bit for it just to be some small little piece of thread on a random alternate uniform that they wear one week a year. I'm genuinely curious here... Would be a huge disappointment if after all this hype, the only thing that changes is an alternate uniform that they trot out once a year. I would actually be quite upset. Not because I hate the uniforms, but I hate publicity stunts.
https://reddit.com/r/Texans/s/VVM12P4hbE There maybe some Htown on all the uniforms, but don’t expect the Cougars-type uniforms. They are restricted by the Titans and the NFL.
Why are the lions not restricted? Or the Panthers? Seems weird... I get it if we were trying to use the same exact color, but like someone else said, a little tweak, and we have the same rights as the Lions or Panthers to use blue... From that post.... that does sound a lot like what Tampa did. And it's scary. Also, if we can use it as a nod to the last, it should be fine to use in whatever way we want...
Because the Lions and Panthers are not in Houston, and would try to mimic the Oilers' colors. It is not the color itself, it is the reminder of the oilers uniform layout. That UH uniform wouldn't fly in the NFL.
The UH uniform was a clear nod to the Oilers. I get that. But say the Texans wanted to go with (H-town) Blue, Red, and say.... Gold, or black? And a uniform that wasn't reminiscent of the Oilers' simplicity... That's not allowed? Seems whacky...
exactly like the Astros in that way until one day it wasn’t. And I say that as someone who so wished they’d pick a space themed name.
Not sure how I feel about it...I kinda like it, but not sure if I really do. Guess I'll have to wait and see it live, if it's like these rendered pictures ofc.
