It's obvious they won't make it past the NLDS ;)

What’s funny is resting starters is more of a new age style. Which is why cal Ripken’s record will never be broken. So you would think Dusty would be more this way. And I think he kind of is with bregman and Tucker. I honestly think he just uses the “rest days” as reasons for getting Dubon playing time.

What’s funny is in terms of games played. Bregman, Tucker, Pena, Abreu, Dubon, Meyers, and Maldonado have all played more games than McCormick and Diaz.

I remember someone saying that Hank Aaron gave Dusty some advice about this and that's why he rests starters. I need to find that.

This is from a story in The Chronicle on June 7, 2023 by Matt Young about Dusty "crushing Alex Bregman's dream to play 162 games"

Baker often cites advice Hank Aaron gave him during their playing days with the Braves. The slugger used to tell teammates that their goal should be to play in 150 games a year, taking off a couple games a month on average to stay fresh.

"There’s 10 or 12 games where you’re doing nothing but occupying ink on a lineup card and I’ve found that to be true," Baker said. "You get more production if you give them a rest every now and then."

I know he'll get slammed for not keeping Betts, but he inherited a mess. The Yoshida and Story deals not looking good, though.

JD Martinez for Turner didn’t work out as well as expected. (I know this wasn’t a trade… but essentially worked out as so).

wonder if Chaim and click will just join forces again and sell themselves as a package to somebody.

65% accuracy on called strikes. Are they really powerless to fire this guy?

yup ! Same reason it’s hard to fire bad teachers. Also he plays the race card so he gets more shielding that way as well. It’s all a load of bs and the players and the game suffers as a result. Just can his ass and every underperforming ump/teacher/cop/steel worker etc
