I have had it with DD. Dude is an enabler, he wants stuff to be hush hush.......this stuff will come out, DD! Better be prepared. Now talking about fans being irrevelant to the team.....
If it is one, it is a good one. Eyes have been blurring since this incident. Lmao. The sister Gondrezick was scary enough with her checkered past.
I don’t blame Stone for trying. I do blame him and the previous staff for 1) not handing out more harsh punishments for his actions 2) not cutting him after throwing something at a coach and then leaving the arena at halftime But yeah, I was thinking initially excited about what he could do on the court.
Was never a fan of his even in the beginning so it is easy for me to talk......easier said than done for sure.
Nah Kpj probably played it real cool as his rage filled up. As soon as security let him in and he figured they were away he went to town beating that innocent woman. If anything he was probably joking and laughing with security on the way to the room. A complete psycho
Stone is definitely to blame, it is his job to build the roster and keeping KPJ around our young guys, trying to build around him was very questionable decision long before he tried to kill his girlfriend. With that being said one has to wonder how much KPJ being favorite player of one Tillman Fertitta played a role in this. Stone is a new GM, even if he thought keeping KPJ might not be a good idea, he likely had to do it, just to keep his job. If you want to know how much Tillman loved him some KPJ, take a look at the ending segment of Udoka's introductory press conference:
It really shows poor judgement if he wanted to build around this man. He had a full season that he was able to evaluate him and the results were clear as crystal that KPJ was not going to work out as the future PG of this team. Even his second full season with the Rockets, they insisted on forcing the fit. I do believe some of us held up hope that this young man would become a good piece once he was shifted from PG to another role. My hope was that his issues were hopefully behind him, but man his demeanor on the court, plus his halftime incident just really showed this man had not matured. I was definitely over his stint. It's a shame because people with these sort of problem are usually not gifted a golden opportunity to put the past behind them. He was handed the keys to the team (hence the head honcho comment), he was given a lucrative contract extension, and essentially was given personal mentor to look after him. Talk about blowing it completely. Stone, he had a lot more information than we did and despite this, he chose to make this young man the future of this team. He chose to enable him. The coaching staff enabled him. They were all so concerned about his mental well-being that they treated KPJ differently and were very careful of how they handled him and talked about him. Poor judgment all around and quite frankly it's a major **** up, especially since we had a very very young team. I'm not really a fan of Stone anymore and I wish we would move on to a more qualified candidate, but I guess we are stuck with him in the mean time.
I've seen people on here call him crazy for years. Crazy people aren't responsible for their actions, that is what makes them crazy. If he's bipolar then what you're doing is like blaming a stroke victim for crashing their car into someone. The contradiction of calling someone crazy but then evil makes no sense. Your simplistic view of people is childish. I never once justified what he did or said he shouldn't be cut. I hope you can learn to be a better person. I'm done interacting with you and hope you can learn to be more considerate of people. I have had people in my family who are bipolar and it's not something to discount. Enjoy your life being an ass to complete strangers. I hope it brings you fulfillment.
The Rockets are just going to stay silent for now and say "league policy / investigation" . That's another embarrassment. This guy can never play for the Rockets again. I don't care if it costs them the first guaranteed year on his deal to just cut him immediately. Thats literally a rounding error for them. They should make that clear now. Today. BTW "league policy/league investigation" is a flavor of the same whitewash they gave us about Udoka past history. I'm sensing a pattern of buck passing. Hope that doesn't blow up too.
KPJ has the resources to get himself treated for this condition. It should be on him if he did not keep up with medication and consult with professionals for therapy. KPJ should not have been drinking knowing his condition. Ultimately this young man had a team behind him and he was afforded opportunities most people will never see. He is paid millions, team provided healthcare, etc etc. The responsibility lies on him. If he was in this bad of shape, then he probably should have been in a psychiatric ward. Despite his upbringing, it is KPJs responsibility to work on himself and be a better person. From the outside looking in, it appears that the way the Rockets coddled this young man was a detriment to him since he appeared to be entitled. He no longer really had a chip on his shoulder. It's too bad.
Count me in to the people that thought he would never change but at least could play through a season or two. Just upgraded massively from being a perceived bad apple and troubled soul to a felon and possibly even a calculated psycho. As for the beloved Rockets, they should get punishment, sorry to say that, cannot be the ones getting away with that. Absolutely horrendous and Zero Tolerance for an organization that has virtually no scruples.
The justice system will hopefully prevail in this case and KPJ will get prison time. The NBA should void his contract and ban him indefinitely from the league. They been soft on this in the past, so they need to drop the damn hammer on KPJ. Based on what has been released, this was attempted murder, but he is just not being charged with that likely due to the prosecutor thinking they have a stronger case with the current charges they put on him.
