I'm not gonna blame the players around him. They aren't responsible for KPJ. And they are 19-21 year olds. You think they are going to go against upper management and Tillman if the Rockets covered up other incidents?
You are right, I have been so preoccupied with the injuries to that poor young woman, I have to yet think about the Rockets organization as a whole.
I don’t follow their personal lives that closely and even I know they were known to be close. Of course we don’t really know how close and I’m jumping here to know if the teammates knew or not given it’s possible he was a loner and distant from the team behind the scenes. I just think it is hard to believe that if law enforcement is saying there are other uncharged incidents THEY KNOW about, it’s hard to believe his teammates would likely know too. Jalen has been just a kid in the NBA and as best we know he’s been a model citizen. I don’t think he should be punished so to speak, but I do think that if he has a moral compass I would hope this would make him feel a sense of shame and regret, and would change his life in a sense that he will never find himself in the situation again where he saw something and did nothing. I don’t wish for Jalen or other teammates to be punished. I just hope they feel a sense of shame, regret, and it changes the culture to make sure a monster like this never again wears rockets red as long as they are here.
The way his contract is structured implies this as well. I need to accept that when I have heard that the inner workings of the Rockets was (insert many word…many are applicable) are true to at least some extent. It’s all gross. If I had to bet they were trying to turn KPJ into some type of trade chip and salary as well. I would also like to add that @Bobbythegreat you truly are a female dog. No but it doesn’t mean it’s not the right thing to do. If I want anyone still to be a rocket it’s the players…. Not Stone and certainly not Tillman. These are kids and they will hopefully change and grow. It’s hard to ask but I still want them to do the right thing and say fck it and fck Tillman. They have a chance to grow and make fans proud again one day… Stone and Tillman sadly are lost causes it seems.
It was more going along with the program, I thought many of those young players had flaws, but Kevin Porter is just a bad human being, that is something else.
