Which implies he could get attempted murder charges because he stopped only because she successfully escaped. It really makes you wonder what would have happened if she couldn't escape.
If she was cut above her eye, that area releases alot of blood. I've been cut there before. It's more disturbing that he would see the blood and just keep choking or whatever, plus the fact that she was actually asleep when he started. It is close to attempted murder.
