Said Silas, “We feel 2 games is appropriate. For this to be blown out of proportion – it should not be, it should be a bump in the road and we continue on because if you really love somebody, you don't take this one instance and say that's it or make it to where it's more than it is. You love him, you hug him and then when stuff like this happens you love him even more. We love Kevin and think the world of him. He’ll be back with us once he bonds out of jail.”
The allure of a redemption/reclamation story that would have been huge for the team, the owner and especially the GM had to have played a part in clouding some decision maker’s judgment. “We’re the team that can turn people around” “I’m the owner that is willing to take a risk!” “I’m the GM who identified the talent in a troubled young player and got him for nothing” All would have played nicely if everything went right with KPJ.
It is the wrong way .... you draft honorable guys. Do not fall those feel good stories. You do not want to turn the Rockets into an orphanage for the troubled.
I know what KPJ has done is inexcusable, but this dude has been through some real trauma in his life. It takes a special person to rise above all that and be a functional human.
I doubt Silas doesn't take domestic assault and strangulation seriously. People hate Silas for the wrong reasons. He was an introvert tasked to be a head coach. That was his problem. Morality isn't an issue an issue with him.
Settle down. I had literally just seen the report. I didn't see it yesterday so I know very little. I'm not taking his side and I just haven't had the time to read more about it. So until then, I'm not going to make any definitive statements.
Kpj looked up to the Joker. Dillon Brooks cosplays as a villain meanwhile Porter actually wants to be the real thing. Takes a special kind of mental disorder/evil.
I made no excuses for him. Said if he did what’s alleged, he needs to be elsewhere. I just said I hope he gets to be a better person. He should absolutely be held accountable for those things.
It could be that he was into older women. His dad not being around, him being around an old woman his mom. The sister of Kysre saying he was closeted gay, might be closet bisexual.....
Silas decided to cater the entire team, to the detriment of all other players, to what turned out to be a psychopath. I don’t doubt that Silas is a very nice man, but he is also a very weak man who had a very poor judge of character and ended up sabotaging the team. There are consequences in life and it doesn’t matter if you are nice or not, he would be reaping those consequences now if he wasn’t already fired.
Strangulation from the front won't break a vertebrae. He was likely slamming her against something to break a vertebrae. You have to do that pretty damn hard to fracture something. She's lucky she was able to escape.
You need to get this through your thick skull. None of this is an indictment on how people judge character. Silas has zero to do with this poor lady being nearly strangled to death. Him enabling KPJ to dominate the ball has NOTHING to do with this event. People need to stop this bs.
I personally don't think she was literally dead asleep, she might have been in bed trying to sleep when he started beating her. Who knows I don't really know this is really important at this point. It was an argument and he beat her, don't really know the exact scenario
