What will happen to KPJ?

  1. Miles Bridges 2.0, a 30 game suspension and the whole thing is pushed under the rug

    25.6%
  2. OJ Mayo 2.0: KPJ gets a massive suspension and is all but black-balled out of the NBA

    53.8%
  3. Aaron Hernandez 2.0: Bridges serves actual hard time

    20.5%

Second chance? Rockets gave him his second, then third. He does seem to have strange talent to kiss to higher ups (the only player on Udoka's introductory conference), but I would be shocked if he plays a single more minute in the NBA.

Horrible situation, but at least Udoka won't be hearing constantly how he should play KPJ as he is a personal project of Stone/Fertitta. Such a shame they did not give all his minutes last season to TyTy,

What if the girl refuses to testify against him?

I don’t know what your question is. My post was saying victims cannot drop DV charges/drop the case. Only the state can.

The state can drop the case, yes. But the victim is not required to testify.

I doubt he ever gets any hard time on THIS crime, but probably does on future ones.

These usually lead to probation and settlement.

You continue to make yourself look bad. Why are you rooting for him not to do time? This guy is a scumbag that broke a girls neck.

Come on man... you got the message DD is rooting for KPJ after this post?
As much as I love poking at his ridiculous obsession with KPJ he did not do that that, be fair.

He's made other posts in the other KPJ thread. He's out here talking like he is his lawyer coming up with scenarios where he won't do time. I can read between the lines.

Maybe DD needs to hire a PR firm to do his CF posts. :D

I guess my question is, if the victim refuses to testify, would it let the perpetrator off the hook, or at least make the case weaker?

If the only witness is her then her not testifying would make the case weaker.

With the severe nature of the strangulation, I doubt she's not going to testify. She probably thought she was about to die in the moment due to the severe nature of the strangulation. I can't read her mind though. She should do whatever is most comfortable for her to minimize her trauma though

For some reason, it just feels like the Rockets knew this was bound to happen. I mean, they are perfectly set up with Amen and Whitmore now to take his minutes.

Maybe he was set up ;)

In cases with evidence (like this), physical and initial 911 calls and original victim interviews, that goes a long way.

Unlike any other violent crimes, DV cases have the largest % of uncooperative victims (fueling a cycle of violence, etc), which also means the DAs have the most experience with such victims. They will be prepared for that. They won’t need her additional testimony. This won’t get dropped.

Weakened? I don’t know. But it won’t get dropped. DAs take this domestic cycle of violence too seriously for this evidence to be dropped.
