I suspect this will mirror that in some way, his GF will probably not want to cooperate at some point, the DA, will look at the case, and decide to proceed or not, and will adjust the charges up or down accordingly. Let's assume she just wants it over doesn't want to press charges, if the DA has a witness they might move forward, if that is the case they will take a plea deal to a lessor non - felony charge and he will get probation and try to ressurect his career ala Bridges. If she does cooperate - he will do jail time of some sort..... My GUESS is this gets pleaded down to misdemeanor and he tries to start over somewhere - but, may have to go to Europe or China first. The fact that she's a WNBA player and John Lucas's Goddaughter is the career killer for him. Both in terms of morality and PR, this is a disaster of a situation. They will come down on him hard. My guess is he'll get suspended for half or full season plus he will get blackballed after that. I think he'll have to go play abroad like Marbury, but he's young enough to make it back to the NBA if he rehabs himself and his image.

First offenses rarely get jail time, and it depends upon the injury and circumstances....if found guilty, he would get probation and community service..... This is his first real offense in NY - and unless he beat her before (He might have) they will treat it as such, IMHO. DD
Well, reading the articles he's had several run-ins with law especially with assaulting women. Not to mention gun and mar1juana charges. Dude is probably going to see a little time.
He'll probably settle with the gf so she won't press charges, but he'll still be cut from the Rockets. Either way, I don't see him playing this upcoming year unless a team really wants bad PR. Out of sight, out of mind for a year...and he'll go somewhere and start over. With his reputation even before this happened, no team in the NBA will sign him.
Regardless of what he deserves, his several hours behind bars is all he'll see unless he decides to represent himself.
