The very obvious point was that we lost 4 home games. Having a great home record doesn’t necessarily predict how it’s going to go in the playoffs.

Aged well... as much as pink soap is but a thing of dreams, I'm still hoping for an "unofficial demotion" & delegation of duties/responsibilities...

Losing a WS always stings, but which would sting more... losing again to the Braves or losing to the Dodgers?

And opposite. Which seems more rewarding, beating the Braves this time around or beating the Dodgers twice?

Probably beating the Dodgers again so they can't say the Astros wouldn't have beat them without cheating.

I have to admit, I would love nothing more than to beat the Dodgers
-Revenge against Freeman and Chris Taylor WS loses
    -Beat up on Kershaw again
-Rub Joe Kelly's nose in it
-Take out Kiki and JD Martinez (bonus)
-Prove that 2017 wasn't a fluke but their 2020 covid ring was

Looking ahead with all of these Thursdays off, it will be interesting how they manage the rotation. I think the Oakland series is pretty cut and dry Framber/Verlander/Uquidy before the off day Thursday. That gives Brown 6 days off between starts.

If they bring back Framber/Verlander on regular 4 days rest next weekend, it would give Javier/France 8 days and also opens up the possiblity of giving Brown 8 days off before his next start. Do they ask a little more out of the proven workhorses to save the possibly gassed pitchers, or do they just stay on a 6 man rotation and give everybody 6 days off.

Even if they bring Framber/JV back on regular rest this one time through, they would still get quite a bit of extra rest in the coming weeks with the off days and 6 man rotation. The other consideration is that staying on a normal 6 man instead of splitting rest lines Framber/JV up to pitch the Mariners series.

One of Houston’s only holes looking into 2024 is backup C. Houston can likely promise enough playing time to whoever they pursue that it will be a nearly everyday role even if it is technically a backup to Yainer Diaz. My choices in order would be Garver, Murphy, Caratini, Grandal, Sanchez, or Maile. None of those other guys seem to be meaningfully better than Cesar Salazar. Salvador Perez or Willson Contreras are trade options.

We could have had Marte also if Click listened to Crane. Turned out okay, since we won a world series and Chas turned into an all-star level player.
