You guys should lay off DD because he’s been damn near wrong about everything else he’s said on the bbs over the years so how is this anything new?
Who cares what you have a problem with, you were defending him too. It was obvious. He was a tool on the court too. He was not getting better you could see him throw tantrums and quit in the middle of games. DD didn't believe it he chose a side and stuck to it no matter what. That's how America as a whole is right now, especially politically. Doesn't matter how wrong you are this is your side and when you're terribly wrong you can shame the other side and claim innocence lol I haven't seen not one "my bad I was wrong" comment lol Wonder why that is.
The initial reporting is so damaging it's hard to imagine an unknown variable justifying the original reporting of what he did outside of something unknown like his girlfriend having a weapon on her and was threatening him with it
Really difficult watching this. Like this is so depressing. I don't think anyone here even the most diehard anti-kpj posters can get enjoyment out of seeing this.
DD isn't claiming anything besides saying he was wrong and that KPJ needs to be removed from the team immediately. What are you reading from him exactly? He flipped on KPJ the second he saw the charges.
@Haymitch IF the Commissioner decides to void KPJ's contract per the Policy, THEN the #Rockets wouldn't have to pay his previously guaranteed salary ($15.86M this season, plus at least $1M next). But the voiding of the entire contract is not very likely. We'll just have to wait and see. https://x.com/BimaThug/status/1701321432284688818?s=20 https://x.com/BimaThug/status/1701318618296824079?s=20
This is just not true, I just post a lot and am an easier target, I was also the guy first on Yao Ming, Scola, so many many others - I like NBA talent, and am VERY forgiving of nonsense of social media - until it is proven. And I like to argue BBall with folks - and some people can't seem to separate bball discussions from life, that ain't me - I would have a beer with anyone here and wouldn't hold a grudge (Well most anyway) KPJ deserves whatever he gets - I will not defend his actions, I have been disappointed by 2 very good players at their craft these last 2 years - both for the same thing, Mason Greenwood, and KPJ, I can separate the difference between character and their skills. Some guys are able to get over their immaturity, others are not, the Rocks gave him all the chances to get over it, and I really wanted to see what IME would do with him - now, He has to go - and how he handles himself moving forward will determine his own life, just not as a Houston Rocket. His days here are done, and as an org, we have him covered talent wise and Cam Whitmore just got to be an even better pick. DD
They'll definitely be cutting him. Maybe they can reach some sort of buyout agreement if he's still owed that money.
Enjoyment? No, I'm disgusted with KPJ and feel terrible for the woman he hurt. Some relief that the other shoe finally dropped though--I've been half-expecting him to have another major incident and was really worried he was going to cause problems this season due to his reduced role. I wish he'd managed to get himself cut by cursing out Tilman or something instead of anybody getting hurt, but I'm not surprised that his anger issues came out this way.
Ultimately, KPJ is responsible for his own actions, however, based on just surface reporting, the Rockets handled his situation in a way that hurt the team and the player. When KPJ refused to go back in the game, threw food, yelled at coaches, visibly pouted and gave up on plays, etc, there should have been much more significant consequences, including an extended suspension and mandatory, monitored, counseling. If this had occurred, it at least had the possibility of getting KPJ to realize how serious his problems were and to do something about them. Also, it would have served as an example to the other young guys on the team of what would not be tolerated. Instead, by coddling him, they did damage to everyone involved.
