I think he'll defend as best he can given his current shortcomings. I think he wants to due to many circumstances (contract being the primary). I don't really put too much on his size being an issue because there's only so much a 22 YO can do to gain muscle mass. Men fill out throughout their 20s and that's just a time thing. The main things I'll be looking at are his defensive lapses on backdoor cuts and his ability to fight through screens. One is a focus issue and the other is a will issue. I think he'll be better. He's seemed to have shown a lot this summer in training with TUSA and in Rec League stuff. I haven't seen him be too active in either of these defensively but they're summer stuff so I'll wait to really judge when SL starts.

We'll know within the first 10 games I think where his head is at on that side of the ball. Dillon and FVV will help immensely here. Another issue from before. He didn't have anyone to learn from except EGo who didn't really want to be here. We'll see.

Doubtful. Jalen could average 26/4/4 on a .500ish Rockets club and he wouldn't make All Star nor sniff an All NBA team.

Shai on the other hand could do the same on the Thunder and be All NBA 1st Team somehow.

I think the Rockets easier path to 0.500 is to have balanced scoring.....that would mean only 23-24 ppg for Green on reasonable shot attempts.

Team performance will get you easier wins.

Did I read somewhere that Jalen Green has grown? Is this true or is he still 6'4" ?

    I don't think he ever was 6'4".

This is a pic of his rookie year:

I don't think this is because of perspective. They are roughly in the same plane and shoulder to shoulder. If Green was 6'4" then Ant is 6'2"

Haven't been high on Jalen, however hoping now the two ridiculously woeful influences (Silas and KPJ) have been removed from the equation, he makes a very big step this year.

Yes because the league media establishment loves Canadians who play in small market cities. o_O

I've got a wild idea - maybe the 2 players should be remotely on the same level before you look for some type of explanation for their inequal accolades?

Ikr. Shai averaged 31.4 pts 4.8 rebs 5.5 assists 1.0 blks 1.6 stls on 51% overall FG. That's not even remotely close to the fantasy Jalen stats of 26/4/4 that that poster came up with. Elite defense + super elite guard efficiency take those numbers to 1st team level.
