Everything is so chill now. Not much to complain about. We started hitting at home. I'm feelin' good.
It actually isn't, just a weird quirk of how OBP is calculated. Sac Flies count against OBP, but don't count against BA.
It’s because Dusty finally played the no-brainer lineup we’ve all been waiting for. Anyone with a pulse knows that’s the lineup that should be out there 95% percent of the time going forward (with occasionally spot starts ). Everyone except the Manager gets it … sigh
A's series is probably time to give Altuve, Tuck, Bregman, Yordan an extra rest day. We have more than enough bats to cover for them.
Seeing this lineup today made me so happy. Pound for pound best in baseball...but alas...Dusty will find a way to screw it up. Our #8 and #9 hitters today would be 3 or 4 on any other team.
I don't mind resting players. I just don't like resting them on random days that don't make sense. That said, I'd love to see today's line up on 3 out of six days each week over the last three weeks.
Not as big a deal in a position player who can DH. Ohtani still playing with it. Harper played with it last year, had surgery after the WS, and was back before the ASB.
First time this season Brantley, Chas, and Diaz all in the lineup. Maldo defines "detriment". First time this season 20 games above. 500. 2.5 games ahead in the division (largest 2023 lead) 8-run inning (6th)
Yeah I love the lineup just not the order. The one main thing being the worst hitter of the 9 batting 2nd. Move Pena to 9.
I think Pena is a different hitter at 2. I think he would not have been the worst hitter if he played in the 2 hole all year
Honestly, I think last years playoff run went to his head in the off season. Not saying he didn't work on his game, but perhaps he realized he wasn't suddenly going to be a .300, 30 HR, 100 RBI player and pitchers were magically going to respect him enough to walk. It took a humbling experience this year for his to be okay with not being the big hit player and settle into his role of keeping the lineup moving.
