You can't prove it was wrong nor can you prove it was right, if the Astros were to win another title. This isn't Avengers where Dr. Strange says it's the only way. Dusty should neither get all the credit or blame when they didn't win 2 years ago and did win last year. What you can do, instead of saying "it had to happen that way" = championship, is use logic and evidence to try to predict outcomes. There's no guarantee that playing Chas more = another ring. There's no guarantee that playing Chas and Yainer the Dusty way will not equal another ring. But you're trying to put the best team out there with the evidence you have, and if the evidence for Chaz is every measurable and non measurable out there, then that's a huge negative on Dusty for being so irrational, biased, stubborn, hateful or whatever.
You are right. No way to determine either way. But it is feasible that more playing time hurts some players, that someone gets hurt, players get tired, other players don't get playing time they need and never get going. Lots of POSSIBLE reasons different lineup/starting decisions helped. We would never know.
It’s so ridiculous that Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, Clemens, etc. aren’t in the Hall of Fame. I would bet a high percentage of the recent inductees (Frank Thomas, Jeff Bagwell, David Ortiz, etc.) from that era took something at some point in their careers, if not throughout.

This also confirms what I felt initially, that although yes, we all have questions about Chas usage and Dusty's feelings towards Chas...it is also true that Chandler Rome is an effing s*** starter, instigator, and agitator. He is a real POS.
