Id bet dusty has no problem with chas, hes just stubborn and doesnt want to give in to outside forces telling him what to do.
Chas has sat 11 times (not counting May in which Chas may have sat due to recovering/IL) for Julks, Hensley, Bannon, and Madris to play DH.
I don't know man When you verbally express at a press conference that if you had your rivals CF you would play him every day, but say your own CF just isn't as good I mean that's fairly clear there are some issues there Even if he said he is no Ohtani with the bat...I mean that would be a fair statement, but why the hell would a teams manager be spouting about how rivals players are better than one who he is counting on
Oh I agree that he SHOULD But i'm not sure what evidence there is that he will. I mean I hope i'm wrong, if Dusty says he wants to come back I hope Crane gives the middle finger to the media and what they will say and tell Dusty no, you are done It would be absolutely shocking though
Some of what you say here is legit But on the scandalous/cheating stuff He had one of, if not the, most roided up stars of the roid generation, he isn't Mr Clean just because the media wants to make you believe he is
For me maybe it's because I had a career in competitive sports But I just can't call someone who talks down about one of his players in public a good person It's a very shitty way to treat someone
Julio is taller and in better shape than McCormick. McCormick's defense appears a little worse this year. That said, McCormick just gets exit hits.
It’s crazy his boy Maldy is fat as f*** and keeps allowing passed balls at an alarming rate while Yainer is athletic, especially for a catcher, but he keeps running Maldy out there…
Oh sure, no doubt. I'm just saying when I hear people say that Dusty simply wouldn't allow cheating and things like that, its disingenuous
I bet a larger percentage of MLB teams were involved in electronic sign stealing Than the percentage of MLB players who were using steroids And yes, a LOT of mlb players were using steroids, a LOT...but a lot of them weren't using too
Dusty Baker has been in pro baseball for 55 years - I guarantee you that he has cheated, stolen, abused and done just about every other terrible thing a ball player can do. From greenies to groupies--- to grifting.
I disagree. I worked for the Astros during that time period - and on the Astros, over 90% of them were using steroids/human growth hormones. The testing was very poor, and it was easy to mask the tests and stay ahead of it. If a player wasn't using them to get stronger or throw faster - they were using them to return from injury faster. The only players I know did not use them with the Astros were Adam Everett and Lance Berkman - and they were told they should take them to be better.
If the number is truly over 90% that is even sadder that I thought And i'm not even making that comment from the "cheating" aspect Just to think that almost ALL of them were willing to harm their bodies long term to gain an extra buck is sad to me High Schools started testing during that time period. Millions were put into it because the perception was that a lot of them were following along and using. The state wide program turned up very few positive tests though, and after spending no telling how many million of dollars they replaced the testing program with an educational video that all athletes must watch yearly. Unfortunately they never change the video, it's the same exact one year after year, so not only do the athletes not pay much attention after their 7th grade year, it really kind of makes the whole thing seem worthless to them
