He's used to winning on talent and ref bias alone. He didn't instill any offense at all. Just 1v1 out of them
Should have picked 2012 Olympic gold medalist and 2014 World Cup Champion James Harden. He doesn't care that much obviously about his current employer's upcoming season, so no conflicts there, and in terms of roster construction - HE KNEW WHAT THEY NEEDS TO DO
Not even surprised. Not saying it as an excuse but the team this year was bad. Yall should have seen this coming when the reserve USA team beat this team. Yep. Chet and Duren could have worked as bigs on this team easily. And yes...Green or Cade would have been better than Haliburton, the guard rotation was not that good and usually its where USA excels, just having more dynamic guard play and they only got that from Edwards. They should have had all the Jalen's on this team, Green, Duren, and Williams. It would have at least been a good experience for them. But hey...they wanted to build a 'balanced' roster that focused on 'team' so there you go. Josh Hart and Reeves and Portis.... EDIT: Random aside, Banchero's defense sucks.
I keep thinking this is a parody account, but... nope. It's Magic. Honestly, they should have had Magic as an announcer in Dodgeball. "He got hit by a ball! He has to leave the court, Cotton."
Where are the folks that said the current Rockets would’ve won gold at this year’s World Cup? Show your face!
This is on Grant Hill for the roster construction. Guys too inexperienced, not enough bulky big men, and weird things like picking Duke alumns. USA's size weakness was pointed out at the very beginning. Yet they went with JJJ (foul prone / no reb), Paolo (Duke / Orlando connection rookie) and another rookie Kessler. Couldn't get Myles Turner or Jarrett Allen? Old man Brook Lopez or McGee might have done better. Bad at recruiting, bad at FIBA GMing. It's also on Kerr, overrated af. Team USA is not GSW. JJJ can't rebound like Looney, Paolo is not Draymond. Is Kerr playing small ball to see if these young guys down the road can fit at GSW after Curry's era is done, or does he actually have Team USA's best interest at heart? ... if USA loses to Canada and can't even get the Bronze, replace Hill and Kerr asap.
