Yeah, no better time than now to turn around our home ground (dis)advantage trend. Also we have a tendency to play down to our opposition - need to shake that off as well, considering we play a lot of weak teams coming up.
So this needs to be pointed out. The big matchup between JV and Scherzer. JV 7 IP 1 ER 4 H 6 K Scherzer 3 IP 7 ER 6 H 3 HR
I have been a baseball fan for a very long time. I can't remember ever seeing a series with scores like that. They let the Yankees walk all over them, then they absolutely annihilated the Rangers. If they could "bottle" the last three days they would be WS bound. Which they may be anyway.
1 reason why Astros fans will love Abreu in the post season... I think he brings that Carlos Beltran feel with him. A proven vet that can't wait to win that ring.
Lowest Avg IP per Win in modern day history and with 200+ wins: 12.91 Martinez 12.91 Kershaw 12.94 Verlander 12.95 Pettitte Verlander would vault into first on that list if he wins his next start and pitches no more than 5 2/3 IP. That's how close this race is. No one else is under 13. Gerrit Cole is at a 12.80 pace but has only 143 wins. Just for reference his avg was 12.38 just 2 years ago, so he's already falling off that pace.
The female host on the Rangers post game show seemed to be a little too giddy about the Astros offensive prowess this series. I expect we don't ever see her again, lol.
