Man, the Astros beat the crap out of the Rangers in this three game series. I think the Rangers are done. Now, let's turn our attention to all the home games (scary) and the Mariners.
Will be interesting to see how Dusty handles the rotation the rest of the season with off days every Thursday from here on out. Probably not skip anyone and get the starters and extra days rest. This is what I would do with JV Tues OAK Sun @ KC (requires skipping a starter) Fri KC (requires skipping a starter) Wed @ Sea That sets him up to get a week off if we don't win the division or an even longer stretch if we win the division and the bye. I would skip Javier both times I've got listed, unless he smartly moves him into the bullpen to take Stanek's spot. Let Urquidy get back in the rotation.
Nice to POUND the F out these chumps. However, before we start thinking they're back and all of that, let's remember they're going home now and let's see if they turn back into a team who's 35-34 at home for the year and just got Swept by a bad Yankees team.
The Houston Astros are the first team in MLB history to record 50 hits and 16 home runs in a 3-game series. So there's that.
We did good in the short term but that's baseball. No rational manager is playing Maldy and to a lesser extent Dubon when there's better talent they put on the bench, if they're trying their honest best to win that is.
