His numbers are good since coming back from the IL. His bat has looked fast and great and he’s lined into a couple outs while hitting some absolute tanks. The bases loaded out this time was a 104.7 mph exit velo. I bet from 8/17 to the end of the year he has like a 120 ops+. that could be famous last words of a fool.
No- there are a ton of hills I'd like to slaughter (figuratively) Dusty on. Playing an mvp caliber Catcher (that's what his numbers as a catcher prorate to) 1/4 days b/c he's got to play the worst player in baseball 3/4 times. His blatant misuse of chas. Burning up the bullpen (the good leverage arms), mangling the pitching staff as a whole, but, all that being said, which is all the reason why he should be fired into the sun, as stupid as it is, doesn't hold a candle to literally the dumbest decision I've ever seen a baseball manager make Saturday night in the 9th. It's literally indefensible, so I'm glad you didn't even try.
That was a great game to end my skid on. This is the 4th game me and my son have gone to in the past two years (2 in each year) and the first one we got to leave after a win. Was really starting to believe we were a jinx, especially after the Friday Detroit game last week. Going to two more games this week (tomorrow and Fiday), so hopefully we have just started a winning streak.
Considering what the Rangers did to him last time, it'll be a sterling silver performance as in second place (as in a loss). Please feel free to bump and give it to me about this post, I'll gladly eat crow.
Ive been the opposite. Went to two Astros World Series games (both game #2 in 2017 and 2022) and we won both games and the series. We lost the series the other three years I didn't go. So if we make it again this year... please provide me tickets for the cause.
Kind of feel like your avatar on this one. Don't know whether to laugh or cry. Hope we get him some runs early and play good defense to limit the chances of Framer meltdown.
I have zero read on this Astros team. Every year is different of course. Only thing I can go back on is what they have done since 2015... and that is way more often then not. Play better when they had too. The Yankees series is baffling, but you can't deny that they play better when they need it. They have to figure out MMP.
I said it after the deadline that the Rangers trading prospects at the deadline and then missing the postseason would be a very Dallas thing.
It is really frustrating that every time a good player gets healthy, Dusty takes it as an opportunity to play another good player less whether it is Altuve getting healthy so Dubon plays more OF (luckily, Dubon has been mostly good in the OF besides one play that I've seen), Yordan gets healthy so Diaz plays less, Brantley gets healthy so Diaz and Chas play less (mostly Chas).
To be fair, it wasnt a blowout until the 7th and the France didn't pitch deep into the game. Dusty is a bonehead, but I can't rip him for that one.
I would say the self-imposed rule that keeps Maldy and Abreu from losing PAs has been a big contributer on why Diaz and Chas have lost PAs when the other stars have gotten healthy.
