I do remember Dusty saying it's a huge shame their were no African American players on either the Phillies or Astros rosters in the World Series and he seem legitimately upset about that. And then he was reportedly torn up about Julks being called down recently. If he had his way, it wouldn't have happened. And Julks was like 1-30 something in his last stint.
Dusty is trying so hard for the “I told you so moment.” Same thing with Julks pitch hitting a while back in a similar situation. He wants one of his favorites to come through. And when it didn’t happen, he blames the front office statistics, which may or may not exist, but A) he knows they won’t contradict him publicly, and B) stats sure as hell haven’t been the guiding force this season, so mighty convenient now All of that said, with this SP there is no way to go far in October anyway. That is truly the bigger issue than even Dusty’s incompetence. There is not a single pitcher we can count on reliably for 6 innings/2 runs. If that persists, nothing else matters.
I mean, everyone knows we win in spite of Dusty. I don't wish him ill but I cannot wait until he's gone. The Dusty move was always a PR thing and he got his ring... time to go old man.
I could've swore I've blocked this moron from clogging up my timeline with his Dusty dick gobbling tweets.
I hate the constant b****ing, but the decision to PH Singleton for Chas was dumb as ****. To suggest after that the numbers warranted it seems disingenuous. I have a difficult time believing that he had some statistical analysis that caused him to make the decision.
It's disingenuous because Dusty picks and chooses "stats" vs "gut/feelings" when it's convenient. If Singleton was already in the game, and Chas had the "stat" advantage... who believes Chas would have PH'd ??
I didn't watch the game because some things are more important, but I just read on X that Chas was subsituted for J.Singleton?!?!?!?!? That is a boneheaded decision. Chas, is likely a starter for likely all the teams and a fan favorite to let a journeyman bat at the most important point of the game. Dusty needs to fix his pitching coach, or tell the starters to stop WALKING batters. Yankees won because they allowed only 1 WALK, we allowed ....... I hope Dusty is done after this season for his health sake, or take Reggie Jackson's spot.
Alright alright guys. Let's stay positive. We've got another AMAZING Javier start today to look forward to!!!!!!!!
The sad part is that he had to do that with so much sporadic playing time, unlike some of the others.
Dusty PH for Chas is a microcosm of the 2023 season. That's some **** you do in the 8th inning of a game with a 10 run lead or after you are eliminated. I try to be fair to Dusty, as I frequently see some logic in some of his decisions that most here don't. I have been a fan for 45 years and have never been this frustrated by manager decisions. The Astros won last year and that can hold me over until next year as I just don't think this year will end in success but Dusty needs to go back to his wine. If they win, Dusty comes back, if they lose I am miserable. What a terrible place to be in.
