Let’s see how this one goes. Whatever happened to the cowboy beepop thread on here? Ah right it flopped. Just like the show. I feel like this one though could have a chance. Pirates are pretty popular, heck we got pirates of the Caribbean and them movies are trash. Still made depp money
uh oh.. do a good job, lol.. Ive only watched up until water 7 arc and a few movies. Im actually curious to see how it goes. If it's bad I wont care. But I wonder about those people who are 1000 episodes in if they will ever give this chance. Why does Sanji look so thicc??? Nami also might not be sexi enough for these wierdo weebs. this might be a disaster, lol
i did a quick google images search on her. she looks like the character when her hair is dyed strawberry blonde. the costume designer and make up people got it wrong. going by the trailer they got it wrong for the whole cast.
I watched the first episode and it's not that bad. it still got that Netflix look to it but it's fine. The acting is surprisingly good from nami and zoro.
is nobody watching this? its been pretty well received by OP fans. but they are going crazy because IGN gave it a 6 and gave Cowboy Bebop a 7. While the live action OP is better than the live action bebop, it's not by much. It seems like OP fans are overrating this show.
Yeah I heard it’s not as bad as cowboy bebop Netflix adaptation. Will give this a shot but still haven’t seen the anime yet
Well, there was a point when the whole animation went too complex, I had to call it a day. Cannot cope with 10000 characters at once. I am sure they start small with this one, but the big Pirate is named Gol D. Roger and not Gold Roger. The abbreviated D in the name stands for pirate with pirate king potential. Also the Japanese name for Pirate King is much cooler - Kaiza Kroni!
I have very limited experience with the material. My older son is a fan. We started watching this together yesterday and i enjoyed the first episode. He really enjoyed it and said it was fairly true to the source material. He noticed some characters on wanted posters and said he thought it was cool because they didn't show up until later in the series. I enjoy it and will continue to watch with him.
Not familiar with the source material but this really tight ropes between good whimsical and bad whimsical with mostly the former. Thought I may find the main character annoying, but he really does a great job.
Easiest to adapt, goofy style/artistic rendition ruin. The actor portrays him pretty well. The other animes are hard, but a guy on a ship gathering friends (within the realms of our world aka swordsman, navigator, chef) etc is pretty easy they gave it the anime feel
