One thing about hurricanes - we get to see some idiots at their peak performance. Dude gets hit in the head by flying debris and is excited because he caught it on camera, followed by a "let's goooooo". lol.
I’m on my way to Hong Kong and there is a major typhoon heading there too. https://www.reuters.com/business/en...kong-china-issues-highest-warning-2023-08-31/
I bet the typhoon is also posting on its favorite teams forum right now about how rocketsjudoka is coming
Man, I hope whatever you're going there for is worth it. My happy butt would be going the opposite direction.
I’m going there for family matters. I’m stuck in Taipei airport right now as my flight to HK got cancelled. They rescheduled me onto another flight 7 hours from now. It sounds like HK missed the worst of the storm.
Hurricane Lee is projecting to be a monster storm with the possibility of making landfall on the Upper East Coat - Canada. Maybe it curves enough that it stays away from land, but some people are going to have problems if it does make landfall.
as an aside, the family matters there cool? for you to be going there, it occurred to me you guys might be dealing with some stuff that isn't my business, but I hope it's all good!
we all need this (and I mean everyone who pays for insurance) to be a fish storm, please and thank you!
By the time it makes landfall it will not be a major hurricane - once the storm passes over cooler waters it weakens considerably. The worse case scenario for the east coast is if it pulls a Sandy.
Every degree makes a big difference to hurricanes. It strengthen as it was over 30+ degree water NE of the leeward islands, but it's going to move back into sub 30 degree water and then sub 28 degree water - and that's when it won't be able to hold onto cat 5 strength.
