Was Dominic Leone not worth picking up? Asking because of we all seem antsy about half the bull pen and the Mariners picked him up.

Also surprised Clevinger went through waivers. I get $6 million is lot of money to throw at a lottery ticket but we are all worried how long the starters will last and he can be dominant if he gets it together and was at least average in August, better than he was pre All star break.

Just glanced over the Mariners remaining schedule..of course they get to play the Reds when they've been at their coldest (10-17 in August) and the most injured (Matt McLain, Jonathan India, Joey Votto, Jake Fraley, Kevin Newman all out). Meanwhile we played them while they were scorching hot on a 12 game win streak and ended up losing that series. Both Mariners and Rangers also get to play an absolutely gutted Angels team while the Astros are finished with them.

The “Diaz starts 70% of games since July” crew are being disingenuous..
We are not blindly asking for Diaz to just start. That’s talk based on feelings like our manager. We are looking at the numbers. Diaz has way better splits (damn near yordan level) when he plays catcher vs just good when he DH’s.
Also, it’s not just his addition to the lineup, it’s Maldy’s removal. Why have Diaz play 1B or DH and take the place of Abreu or Brantley when he could play catcher (where he has his best numbers) and take the place of Maldy who has the worst numbers on the team..
It’s not a hard concept. Stop throwing out numbers of at bats he has had. It’s not enough we still aren’t even in first.

Also that was with no Brantley, missing Yordan for much of that time and Abreu hurt for a portion of it. it’s intellectually dishonest to say 70% starts since then why are you complaining or convinced he’s not going to play much doing forward.

Dusty has no problem sprinting Maldy's GP.

With Brantley and Abreu back, just enjoy Diaz being able to play 2 games a week at all.

You're afraid of good players getting healthy and playing well?

Was thinking your drift was going to Dusty's pep talk for the *following* game.

If things turn ugly, relief is coming before double-digit runs. Now go get em!

    Or

ROY isn't a big deal anyway. You'll thank me later!!

Or rather... try to get 5 innings... you need to qualify for the win even if we are down by 10 runs.
