Surely we could use a reliever at the least.

Grichuk kills LHP, OF/DH only guy so I don't see the roster room. Wish he could play 1B and we could bid Singleton adieu

I'd take Matt Moore in a heartbeat, hell, Lopez too.

Hilarious that 4 of these guys just got traded for at the deadline.

Any of the pitchers. Moustakas perhaps if he is one of the guys, but honestly I don't see him as an upgrade to Singleton.

Other players currently on waivers, per sources: Yankees OF Harrison Bader, Mets RHP Carlos Carrasco, White Sox RHP Mike Clevinger, Tigers RP José Cisnero. Claims awarded in reverse order of winning percentage as of Thursday. Teams on fringes of wild-card race likely to be most aggressive claimers.

I highly doubt Moore and Lopez will get to the Astros... every team in playoff hunt probably putting in claims.

Perhaps it's a blessing we haven't been so hot this year. It be nice if we could add a contributing piece from Angel's mismanagement.

He’s toast. Horrible crime, hope if he is guilty that he is held accountable well beyond any baseball punishment. Secondary to that, what a blow for the Rays.

I would seriously look at Grichuk. He can play all 3 outfield spots. He really feasts on lefties. Wouldn’t mind him starting against lefties and pinch hitting.

I don’t know the circumstances, and I say this only because he is 22 years old. Was he 19-20 and the girl was 17? The age of consent in the D.R. Is 18 and there are no Romeo & Juliet exceptions. Also, underaged relationships are fairly common in Latin America… which leads me to believe the victim(s) may have been younger than 16-17, but we don’t know.

It may be controversial, but if the girl was 16-17 and he was 20-21 years old, that is a lot different to me than if the girl is 12-14.

Who does he replace on the roster? Meyers? Singleton? Dubon, Diaz (yeah, I know) and Kessinger are now your backup 1B

How many OFers do you need?

I'd be a great move, I just don't see the fit.

    Singleton

Replace Kessinger with a catcher and play Diaz at 1st when Abreu isn't playing 1st. Also Dubon can play 1st in a pinch.

    I don't think he's a fit.

This team has 9 guys w/ wRC+ of 130 or better vs LHP then there is Abreu, Bregman, and Brantley.
Chas 197, Tucker 164, Yordan 155, Dubon 136, Meyers 134 who does he replace?

It's RHP that this team needed help against, but I think Brantley fills that spot.
