Reagor was so, so good at TCU, and then talked up prior to the draft as absolutely a top 30ish pick. Oh well. Sometimes **** don't work out.
Stroud needs to get experience. Stroud's going to know how Mills felt last year with Green/Q/Cann as the IOL. Lets get this show on the road. This ain't Columbus anymore. Gotta find out how good Stroud is able to deal with the kind of pressure that he never saw in Columbus.
Remember him in the draft a few year back--mean, nasty and tough. Not uber athletic, but would be a solid LG for this year.
I’m not talking about this week. That’s a ridiculous statement by Nick. He has a direct effect on this team winning, and to say otherwise is horse****. I’m not a believer in Nick. I don’t like his drafts and I don’t like the way he’s handled things as a whole. If it wasn’t for DR, I think this past draft would have not gone all that well. Just my .02. Granted, he came into an awful situation. He has cleaned up some things. I just don’t think he’s all that great at building a winning roster.
I didn't realize Risner was still out there. He's had some tough injuries, if I recall correctly. Would be an outstanding pickup at this point.
It’s interesting that folks demand every position be solved by week 1 game 1 of the Demeco era. Morey would regularly leave key needs unaddressed until the trade deadline every year, while the team was supposed to be contending. Sometimes he wouldn’t even do that to preserve “flexibility”.
I've purposefully distanced myself from the Texans over the last few seasons for self preservation purposes but am I correct in that we will be pretty bad again this year?
Defense should be better, it’s not like it could get worse. Offense is uncertain but with a rookie QB, injury issues on the OL and a very young WR core it could get pretty bad.
Bruh. It's not my fault that the OLine has been so poor in his time that he needs a bunch of guys. It's not my fault he blew a top 15 pick on a guard. The team had no plan for a starting LG coming into training camp because they've admitted that they knew it wouldn't be Kenyon Green. (Which I also knew but did not think they knew lol.) So he needed to address LG. Like, I get it, it sucks that he needed to get a starting C, starting RG, starting LG, backup tackle, backup C and backup guard, but that's his fault not mine.
It's not the same thing at all. Not having starting caliber offensive linemen doesn't just mean "ok we won't be as good as we want to be until later in the year" it means you are putting the health of your QB in jeopardy.
I think the juries is still out. Finally the Texans appear to have a GM and HC that work well together and some want to fire the GM. SMH
When injuries hit there's only so much you can do. He has added 3 IOL guys. How many more would you wan him to add? What would you have done differently? Who would you have signed to replace Green?
