IMO it's too early to try and trade Mills, he will be a solid back up and Case is pretty old but knows the system but seems to be more of a mentor/coach for CJ
Case is better than Mills. Case would be my backup and there are a few players out there that you can put on the practice squad to fill QB3
So Caserio said today that they've known since MAY that Kenyon Green was going to need surgery at some point. They did nothing to meaningfully address LG. Just malpractice man. Wow.
This new Green guy hasn't played real football in over a year (Steelers benched him all of last year) and hasn't practiced once with the Texans, but they are going to start him at LG? Scruggs isn't playing game 1 at least. Patterson (other rookie C) is going to get mauled if they start him right now. Phew boy. They should consider playing Mills game 1.
Nick Caserio says “this is year is really unlike any other” he’d experienced in regards to the offensive line. “We just lost depth and we lost players. There’s nothing we can do about it.” Nick Caserio says placing Kenyon Green on the IR “was a matter of when, not if,” and they wanted him to get through his injuries and circumstances. With Kenyon Green, Nick Caserio says the plan is getting him ready for 2024. Nick Caserio says “we’re working through” who will be the team’s left guard. Texans GM Nick Caserio alludes to how Kenyon Green being injured "was just a matter of when, not if this was going to happen...He was dealing with some things on a personal level." Caserio said the surgery for G Kenyon Green could have happen in May. Sounds like the shoulder was an issue that they thought needed to be fixed. They decided not to, and in the preseason game Kenyon Green hurt it again. Nick Caserio says it's TBD on if RT Tytus Howard will play Week 1. but adds we "will see him at some point." Nick Caserio says John Metchie’s gone through a great story to get here. There also has to be “some tangible football behind it” at some point, and he’s at times looked like someone who “hasn’t played football in 18 months.” He credits his work ethic. Nick Caserio on if the Texans will be better in 2023. : "That's the hope.. We don't control what the record is, all we control is what our attitude is on a day-to-day basis... it's a process driven league."
At least he's honest about Metchie. People have been way too optimistic about him. The Kenyon Green stuff annoys the hell out of me. How have they known this since May and not addressed that position? Damn man.
