The Rockets last year averaged 88.8 FGA per game, lets round it up to 90.

Jalen's likely to lead the team in FGA, last year he put up 18 per game, up from 14 his rookie year. I expect another increase in volume to 20 FGA.
Alperen Sengun went from 7 to 10 from his rookie to sophmore year, with an improved jumper he can get up to 13 by way of catch and shoots alone.
Jabari's volume is going up as well, 14-15 FGA isn't unreasonable.
Tari should improve from his rookie season as well, so pencil him in for 10 FGA.
I'll assume Amen gets up another 8, as well as Tate.
If Whitmore gets minutes, he'll get a steady diet of another 6-8 shots per game.
So we're at 70 shots already with FVV putting up 16 of his own last year and Brooks another 13, 20 shots remaining amongst two dudes who combine for 30.

If anyone gets their diets reduced, It should be those two, the fear is either Ime is unable/unwilling to do so, and the young guys suffer for it.

Nah. Dylan Brooks has legitimate size to him where he can switch onto forwards and bigs. Dude is a ox.

He's probably a more impactful player on defense than Bev for this reason, but he's a much bigger negative on offense since he takes so many low-efficiency shots. Beverley wasn't a great scorer, but he knew his role and only (barely) took over 10 shots one season in his entire career. His career average is 7.2 field goal attempts per game. Brooks' is 13.1. Almost double the shot attempts at lower percentages.

Not sure but article suggested Draymond and Battier were the diligent ones with the scouting reports on the opponent.

I am sure there were more.

Dillon is a much better defender than Beverly ever was. Most overrated defensive player since I started watching basketball. Tenacious, yes, good no. His “great” defense was media generated.

That's a steer. Oxen are any cattle used for draft work, who may or may not be castrated, as they may or may not be male.

The majority is castrated, you can look it up.

Castration is not an egregious thing in agriculture, it has its purpose for field work and taming.

That sounds about right. Looking at his tape remind me a lot of PatBev. And adjusting for salary cap he's basically getting Beverley money around the same time Beverley became a FA. If his shot selection lowers to similar level no one is really going to complain about his fit nor his salary.

I think you are not wrong, but I think Beverley is more sympathetic than Brooks.

I think Brooks is by far the better player though but not to the extent of being a star player.

We argued that Tari can easily be a better player given time than Brooks now.

I meant more in the general sense. Like I don't see much hate for the FVV deal even if it's also an overpay. Because the general sentiment is that FVV is a positive player even if he's not a star. Whereas there are many people who believe Brooks may be a negative player.

Tate shouldn’t play. If we are going to play Brooks Tate shouldn’t play.

Brooks should shoot 9 times per game.

I would not call Brooks a negative player but a volatile player among kids.......usually he giveth and he taketh.

He was the leading scorer in his high school and college, that is why he is chucking a lot of shots.

I do not remember when he started to be an enforcer though.

I think you take the good, the bad and the crazy with him.
