Ted, you are a liar! You should have your license to practice law revoked. You have no ethics or integrity. You know damn well Trump is lying. You can't possibly believe that 85 or so Republicans who testified against Trump are the liars. Are you calling them all Democrats in drag or what? It's not partisan politics just because your MAGA criminal Trump couldn't pull off the steal of a Democratic Election.

You yourself called Trump a pathological liar before he beat you in the election. Then......you decided to suck up like the miserable coward you are. Trump is not above the law, and neither are you. I hope you get voted out. You really are a disgrace to be representing Texas.

The problem with the GOP is that they know Trump isn't a man to be trusted leading this country, and they expect all the other candidates to either support that criminal and seditionist traitor, or not be allowed to participate in their debates. They just want power and support, at all cost.

It's one thing to support the next President in the transition of power, as everyone else in history has done except Trump. It's a completely different thing to demand them to support an indicted felon, compulsive liar, and sociopath, who doesn't support anyone except himself.

Nobody should expect their party to support a man so unethical, hateful, and full of vengeance against anyone who dares to go against him. Nobody should support someone who would use his power to lash out with vengeance against anyone who dares to defy him, prosecute him, ot testify against him for breaking the law. That's mob mentality.

Pence knows that a man like Trump would sit back and watch anyone who doesn't do as he wants, illegal or not, be attacked, threatened, or killed. He knows Trump would actually incite people to do just that, by lying to them. He saw it first hand on Jan 6th. He was the target. He is the prime example of a coward. He is pledging his oath to support the same man who put his own life in danger, if he is that man is GOP choice. It's pathetic.

It's actually most of the party that puts party over country, because they unanimously support Trump the Traitor.

You can never go home again. What does "old GOP" even mean? Our political parties are ever-evolving. Are you hoping to go back to Bush's neocon Republicans? Or Reaganites? Or Southern Strategy Nixon? The Republican party is maga now. It'll continue to evolve in the future and maybe become less odious, but it's not going backwards.

Just musing but if I was limited to the Republican Candidates I would go with:
    1. Will Hurd
    2. Doug Burgum
Both of those guys though stand almost no chance though and I predict Burgum will be the first to drop.
    3. Chris Christie - I like how much he's going after Trump and that he was very pragmatic when it came to Hurricane Sandy. He's got too much of a vindictive streak though.
    4. Nikki Haley - Her statement she would pardon Trump is very problematic
    5. Asa Hutchinson - Like his position on Trump but he's got no presence.

After that it's tough. I would take any of the remainders even Ramaswamy over another Trump term.

I meant the GOP that was less focused on "Owning the Libs" and culture wars. They have always had some culture war ideology, but it wasn't the forefront of their actual policy. Yes they had the "Party of Family Values", but never to this degree. People I once knew could have a conversation about facts and when you showed them they would understand, even though they had an ideological difference. Now they don't care about facts and scream "Libtard!"

It's like in school when the "less intelligent" kids bully the "nerds and smart kids" to make themselves feel good, and get a little attention. Now even the more educated Republicans with law degrees have joined that crowd. MAGA! We bully and hate to make America Great.

I would settle for most of the party accepting that our elections are with rare exceptions free and fair
