Until Javier gets a chance to really rest - the Astros need to view him as a 4 inning starter if they insist on not letting him skip a few starts.

You are assuming “he’s gassed” but in reality it’s just as likely the league has caught onto him.

He needs two weeks off and pray he’s sharp in his last 3 weeks of starts. If he’s not he shouldn’t even be rostered in the playoffs. I will NOT be surprised if it turns out he’s trying to pitch through an injury.

He needs to go to the bullpen and back into that swing man role he used to be so good in.

Been saying this for 2 months

Astros are wasting their time thinking Javier will miraculously get rejuvenated.

He needs something tangible. He needs skipped starts.

Graveman gave up a 3 runs HR to Duvall last time right?

That’s a scary thought. It’s certainly plausible but I hope you are wrong.

Insanity blah blah blah same thing blah blah blah expecting different result
Insanity to continue to start Javier

I can’t believe I’m saying it either but yes, I think I’d rather have Bielak or Blanco (or both) start.

Am I supposed to get mad at Xavi for giving up that homer after 4 laborious innings.
He should have not gone back out there.

He was out of shape… even before he pitched in the WBC.

As his velocity and spin rate went down, so did the effectiveness. Then his control is spotty likely because he doesn’t want to throw sub par stuff in the zone.

everybody already knew what he was throwing… it just was unhittable because it had good life/spin.

The league hasn’t caught onto him. His pitches are missing and his velocity is down. The league didn’t suddenly catch up to him after several years and the first couple months of this season.

Can you see Javier pitching in relief? With his walk ratio?
