astros SP are not getting swing and miss all season long.

what have the opponent picked up that the pitching staff haven't?

We all know Dusty took over hitting coach duties, I think he's also taken over some of the pitching too.

Edit: Also he fancies himself some sort of doctor as well.

Do they really need swing/misses? Spot/locate the stuff. Have them put the ball in play. Keep pitch counts down.

Framber has tried to strike everybody out. Urquidy also feels thats the only way he can induce outs. Pressly trying to throw the perfect K pitch last night.

Corners, keep the ball down, if they put it in play you have a great defense. (I know, I know… if everybody could put the ball wherever they wanted it, etc. etc etc…..)

    Not the same this year.

Astros have been for years molding their pitchers and defense to go hand in hand with the defensive shift.

No more shift this year so asking the pitcher to put the ball in play is just isn't the same. Prolly gonna take 1 more season for the entire defense and pitching to adjust to no shift.

Damn, I knew Dusty was a cancer, didn't realize he was so deeply ingrained.

There’s no numbers that really back this claim up, but ok….

Soft contact on well located pitches still translates to outs
