@London'sBurning pretty much closed the case on the uselessness of BTC in the real world. Appears like a small team of crypto thieves can corrupt it as well. You believe BTC has basically taken humans out of the equation, and that's your folly. I guess that is the naïve pro- rogue nuclear state, pro- terrorist, pro-organized crime argument.... But hey.... "freedom" "permission-less"..... Basically this is the age of question... what is the function of governments. Who decides what. Who enforces what.
My tiny brain has never seen this hyped of a gift to mankind yet it has gone nowhere in terms of real world usage. A solution for so many of the worlds problems.....yet very little adoption or desire to.
You are my sounding board. The same guy who said Tesla's days are numbered and 'competition is coming', regardless of the mountain of evidence put forth in front of your eyes.
The internet and the speed of which information can be shared is a double edged sword. BTC is basically a lifestyle brand for some and manifesto for others..... And the folks I appreciate the most, they just want to make fast money.
It all depends how you measure time.... Tesla is having more competition, especially in China and from China. Turns out the second largest economy can throw a lot of money at an electric automobile industrial policy. It would appear Tesla has a pretty sizeable lead over all the legacy carmakers at this point.
You literally posited the BTC might be able to solve all these major problems.... frankly the problems that arise from settling down and stop being nomads. So you are tacitly admitting BTC is more of a thought experiment at this point?
Im not sure what you mean. Of course its a thought experiment at this point. Wouldn't it be nice to have a easily accessible currency that was protected against centralized manipulation and inflation? When the Fed raises rates, poor people are always hit the hardest first.
The poor will always get hit the hardest. Clearly with how much BTC has gone up and down, it's nowhere close to solving inflation or deflation. Much less any sort of meaningful adoption. BTC is two years away from being two years away.
What is clear to me, and has been for some time now, is that you: 1) Do not have a good understanding of Bitcoin or money in general You and several others say things, repeatedly, which are embarrassingly untrue/wrong and you would know better with just 10 minutes of Googling. 2) Do not value the things which Bitcoin does I can't change your values system. That's gotta come from within. I've done my level best to improve #1 for you, but it seems like #2 is preventing you from improving #1, which is a real shame. Maybe one day you will be curious and humble enough to learn more. In the meantime, you will suffer as your life's work is drained of economic energy. Perhaps you are wealthy enough you won't feel it much, in which case, good for you. Most aren't.
It’s clear that you 1) Use jargon and complexity to hide behind the fact that BTC isn’t doing anything you claim. 2) See BTC more of a religion or way of life instead of some utility. All of you believers have the same anti Fed / anti institution mindset. I am not wealthy, I just adapt and try to understand the system so I can benefit instead of having my lip stuck out because I’m stubborn.
of course I am anti institution. Institutions are failing us. Schools are failing their students Political parties are failing their constituents Science is marred with politics Healthcare is a joke I don't understand why people like yourself continue to support them when the do not have your interest in consideration.
1) I'd appreciate some examples. I deliberarely avoid jargon and going into too much detail. I'm happy to explain things to those who ask questions in good faith. 2) Saying this over and over again isn't going to make it true. I'm only in the position I am with BTC because of the utility it provides and the math and science that back it up. I'll be the first to tell you that there are plenty of people in this space that act like religious zealots, and that being a bitcoin fan is no guarantee that somebody understands it adequately. I have predictions about the future (we all have to make our bets), but this is not a faith based initiative for me, and the main reason it looks like that to you is your lack of knowledge about the subject matter.
And if you question it….means you are too stupid to understand. But of course, remember to put all your wealth into it!!
And BTC is the magic beans that’s going to solve all that….? That’s the discrepancy between us. I don’t believe in magic beans.
1) Good faith questions are welcomed and all have been addressed. 2) Several BTC proponents in this very thread have cautioned others against getting into the space if they lack the risk appetite or understanding to properly navigate it. Do you have any shame? You seem to lie like you breathe in this thread.
I already told you, your conversation with @London'sBurning was illuminating. And then of course, you’ll fall back to “well you don’t understand” when convenient. You keep making all these exclamations and the real world is just much different… No your own words makes it clear you are BTC zealot:
Not really. Just more of the same. Although this does teach me something about you, at least. Despite my best efforts, it does require a bit of homework on the part of the participant to explain money, let alone BTC. I typically point out your lack of understanding whenever you say something incorrect but I lack the time or patience to explain to you why what you said is incorrect. For example: "Appears like a small team of crypto thieves can corrupt it as well. You believe BTC has basically taken humans out of the equation, and that's your folly." It has been explained to you multiple times what 'corrupting' Bitcoin means and would entail, yet you either do not understand or do not acknowledge this. My patience grows particularly thin whenever something has already been explained in this thread, yet the same question gets asked again by the same person. If the explanation 'doesn't add up' as you claim, you could at least explain why before asking again. This seems to be a routine pattern with you and your friends here: 1) posit question or concern about BTC (usually in bad faith, it would seem, since I doubt any answer would suffice) 2) ignore responses or say answer doesn't make sense (without explanation, rebuttal, etc) 3) on the rare occasion you do realize you've put your feet in your mouth you proceed to move the goal posts (WHY NO UTOPIA ALREADY???) 4) repeat SO, for the most part, the onus is on you. Your questions have been answered. Time for you to rebut the answer or ask for clarity.
